(2) Frontman has trialled well for his first up run in what I think could be a strong trial. He ran 2nd to subsequent group 2 winner Lightsaber on debut and gets a lovely map from barrier 3. Looks hard to beat.

(5) Mars Mission has had a jumpout at Flemington in an exceptionally strong heat against the likes of Tofane, Zoutori, Aysar and Sirius Suspect. Tricky to line up but he looks to have plenty of talent.

(13) Vilana ran a narrow 2nd to Beldivian on debut where the first 3 gapped the rest. The market absolutely loved that race on Saturday, with Beldivian off the map in the Mckenzie Stakes.

(14) Abu Simbel was put under a bit of pressure but trialled well against potential star Argentia.

Very strong maiden but not sure which angle to take.

(8) Cafe Rizu was only run down late at Cranbourne in a decent race, finishing ahead of Bainbridge who has since run very well at Swan Hill on Sunday. Gets in with 54.5kg after Kelly’s claim, draws barrier 1 and with any luck will be hard to beat.

(5) Florent wasn’t far off So You Assume over 1700m last start at Caulfield. She can mix her form a bit but did win over 2000m three back.

(1) Ki Meri Pi was good last start and peaks 4th up.

(2) Saint Of Katowice ran 2nd to Mr Brightside last start which reads well. He led them up there and stuck on well, but does draw wide here which looks tricky.

(1) Firstclass Dreamer came from a long way back to get within a head of Saint Of Katowice in the same race. Generally races well at this T/D and with the right race shape can win.

(8) Amfissa needed to go faster in front last start when outsprinted by Mr Brightside and Eagles Crag. Expect he does so this time.

(14) Elidi has a horrible racing pattern and I’m not sure 1600m is going to suit.

Tip: (2) Saint Of Katowice- $5.00 at Sportsbet

Keen on (4) The Garden who has much better strength to his form. He bolted in over 1300m last start when leading and can do so again from barrier 2. Two starts ago he wasn’t far off Sacred Palace and Ashford Street and he should go very close.

(7) Marimenko bolted in first up in an awful maiden. The form out of that race has been very questionable but the win was good.

(1) Desert Dreamer the other small chance, loses the 4kg claimer after running 2nd to Smoke Bomb last start.

(11) Found Our Thrill ran 2nd in this grade on the Hillside last start, run down by Quintello. The Lakeside should be better for her and drawn barrier 1 she will be hard to run down. Finds a race with a few question marks and looks a good bet at the each way price.

(6) Veranskova had her chance last start when sent forward. Not sure what they do from the map given she was typically a get back horse.

(15) Glitter ‘n’ Gold won well on debut and did start $3.70 against Scorched Earth before a spell.

(16) Morning Melody won well on debut and gets Olly.

Tip: (11) Found Our Thrill- $7.50/2.60 at Ladbrokes

Surely (4) Ghodeleine gets a change of luck here. She arguably should’ve won her last two, the latest behind Hosier and Tooradin in a stronger race. Big jockey switch with Melham taking the ride, she just needs an ounce of luck from the inside to be winning this.

(1) Northwest Passage ran quite well first up but does shoot up in the weights and I’d be waiting one more before looking to back him.

(12) Perennial was unlucky in the Hosier race but still has a big margin to turn on Ghodeleine.

Tip: (4) Ghodeleine- $3.50 at Topsport

Tough race. (10) Invincible Jet got the right run and won okay first up. There does look plenty of pressure up front and he’s been well backed.

(3) Kalashani Lad is going okay for an 11yo old. I thought he ran well last start at Flemington behind Zorro’s Dream, beaten 2L. Will get the right race shape here, even on the Lakeside track.

(11) The General barely runs 1000m so 1200m has to be a huge query, especially first up and with pressure.

(5) Yulong Code has had everything in his favour his last two but is progressive.

(7) Chief Altony does look overs given his SP profile of late. He started $3 in a harder race at Caulfield last start and I don’t think he really lets down on good tracks. Plenty of rain forecast on the day so by race 8 he should get conditions to suit. Will need some luck.

(10) He’s The Real Deel is flying having won two this prep. Very tricky draw with stacks of speed here and this is much harder.

(3) Wicklow Town draws very wide but does come out of a very strong race behind Elephant. Probably has to go right back but should be running on.

(8) Milton Park can improve.
