(1) Kooled looks an exciting prospect for connections and was thrown into the deep end in just his 2nd start, finishing down the track behind Lightsaber in VRC Sires. Clearly the stable have an opinion of him and he looks well placed to break his maiden tag today back in this grade. Has trialled nicely for his return and gets Jmac on his back who was in the saddle for the debut 2nd. 

(2) Dufresne ran a good race on debut, defying the market price to finish 2nd. Should take a heap of benefit from that and will be winning a race soon.

Pretty hot BM72 this but I’m going to side with (8) Solar Apex who resumes today for the first time since being gelded. He will clearly be strecthed out over further considering he tackled the SA Derby last prep but this trip fresh looks suitable enough. He’s won over the mile before and the trials leading in have been good. 

(7) Shibli has race fitness and looks the clear danger. Finished 3rd first up and usually races best with a run under his belt. Back onto a dry track might be what he’s looking for.

(3) Maurice’s Medad was in need of the run fresh, struggling over a trip short of his best. He’s definitely got the quality to win here looking through his form and it’s just a matter of if he can show improvement 2nd up.

If (3) Kuzco Lad can find the front without burning too much energy he could be hard to beat here. Been nothing wrong with his first two starts in NSW and the form around him has been good. Up in trip suits and will be at peak fitness.

(4) Austrata is still lightly raced and drops back in grade for this today. Ran well over 2000m last start and should improve here with Jmac jumping on. 

This is the easiest race (1) Mayfair Spirit has tackled since arriving in Aus and should be ready to improve in his 2nd local prep.

(3) Pippali looks a big winning chance getting onto his favoured dry track following a good fresh run. That was on a wet Kenso track and I think he’s definitely a much better horse on top of the ground. Only career win has come 2nd up before. 

(2) Fifteen Aria resumes and has an unbeaten fresh record to maintain here. Those runs have been over further however so she’ll have to come with this sharper trip now. 

(4) Head On Up was well supported last start at this track and was a good winner. That followed back to back 2nds so clearly the horse is going well at the moment.

(7) Park Avenue returns to racing today and should be hard to beat here. His form around his first prep was elite, finishing with a 2.4L 3rd behind Verne and In the Congo. That looks very strong now and his trials leading into this have been impressive. Should be suited taking on 1100m fresh where he has a strong record and maps for a perfect run from gate 4. 

(8) A Very Fine Red looks a massive chance getting onto a dry track today. The first up run was full of merit following good trials and she’s progressive enough. If Parr can find the front without too much trouble she will give this a shake.

I think (6) Loch Lomond is a progressive type of horse and never really had much luck last start at Randwick in the Provincial Championships. He returns to Gosford today where his record is very good, winning two of three starts here. He won her on debut first up over 1100m so this looks a good setup again. Bowman takes the ride from a good draw and he’ll look the winner at some stage. 

(8) Waihaha Falls is a promising horse, having just had the two starts in his career. He was a winner first up on debut last prep before tackling a strong bm72. He looks hard to beat. 

(4) Not Another Reiby is airborne for Joe Pride. This horse is 3/3 since changing stables and seemingly loves these midweek metro meetings. Should be up on speed and give a strong kick yet again.
