Racing heads to Bendigo for a strong Tuesday card. There are some very promising horses set to go around, and Billy Bestford has highlighted four races later in the day he’s keen to bet in. Get his tips below!

Happy to sit out the first few races and wait for (8) Aquilo here in race 4. The Cumani trained 3 year old is only very lightly raced and has been improving with every start. Looks ready to peak here 3rd up out to 2400m. Ran on well last start on a heavy track and I think today’s dry track will suit even more.

(13) Tictoc Tictoc has been runner up three of his last four starts and looks very close to breaking through. Finished just behind a smart horse last start and the 2400m should also suit him here. Looks the obvious danger.

(4) Okay To pay looks the one to beat here in this bm64 over 1100m. Was a very good maiden winner before narrowly being beaten in this same grade last start by Frederick The Dane. Should race up on the speed from the low draw and have a head start on many of his rivals in the run. Slight rise to 1100m looks ideal and he might even be a better horse on a dry track.

(8) Jenni Express is the obvious threat and is also only very lightly raced. Was last seen beating Defiant Diva by 3.5L and then being put away for a spell. Has plenty of ability but just think the wide gate may hurt her chances today.

Happy to speck (1) Bluetooth who is flying at the moment and looks the likely leader. Continues to work through her grades this prep and can take the natural step up here with Damian Lane to ride. Looks a good EW chance.

Pretty keen on the chances of (3) Yarra Boy here. Looks to have his fair share of ability after a strong win on debut over 1100m on a very wet track. Think he will only be better for that and may even have a better turn of foot on the dry track. Like the fact Oliver sticks from the maiden win and the horse should enjoy the step up to 1400m.

(1) Redwood Shadow is the obvious class in the race running very well last prep in some top level races. Was last seen running in the Victorian Derby after finishing 0.5L off Albarado. Clearly will be better over further this prep but can still give this a shake.

(1) Marketing is an interesting runner here who is first up for a new stable after winning his two starts last prep by a combined 7.6L. Has had the 1 start for a win over this trip and has won a jump out in the lead up to this race today. Was last seen winning a race similar to this by over 4L. Looks to have some talent and think he can kick off his prep with another win here.

(4) Antagoniser is also a winning chance here after not much luck his last two starts this prep. Ran on reasonably well to finish 3.5L of South Parade who has gone on to win agai and should be ready to fire here 3rd up from the low draw.

Thinking (2) Smart Design can run an improved race today 3rd up also. Missed the kick fresh before racing wide the trip last start. Can certainly make excuses for both runs and he can regain some form today. Should enjoy a nice run throughout and has placed twice when 3rd up before. Looks over the odds.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
