Think (6) Larkspur Run will be a much improved horse coming into her 2nd preparation and only got better with race experience last time in work. She broke her maiden in good fashion last start before heading for a spell and has since been trialling well. She showed enough in those trials to suggest she’ll be a good winning chance here fresh today. 

(2) Almighty Rising looks the main danger and comes into this on the back of a strong front-running maiden win. The slight rise to 1250m looks suited and looks a progressive type of horse. 

(1) Construct has had a little freshen up following a 3rd over 1100m behin Huesca, who has since won again. He’s tackled some much tougher races in his career to date and is another good winning chance.

(3) Head Legislator resumes following a good but frustrating prep for connections, running 2nd three times. The most recent of those was a good performance behind the smart Orbisyn and that horse clearly has high expectations heading into the spring. Since won a trial and looks a big chance here. 

(1) Mount Fuji always attracts plenty of interest when he runs, considering the hefty price tag he came with. He’s yet to break through but showed good signs last prep and the stable has taken their time with him. Been ticking over nicely at the trials and looks hard to beat.

(3) Seleque is beginning to build a handy record having only missed the trifecta in two career starts. Comes into this off the back of a good win over 1100m on a heavy track first up and will only improve off the back of that. She beat Van Giz there who has since come out and won a decent Saturday race so the form is stacking up.

(1) Mr Magical is low flying, winning three straight and absolutely loves these wet conditions. This is probably his toughest test to date but the apprentice claim is a big positive and he will take some running down. 

(6) Matterhorn is a very lightly raced 5yo, with only 4 career starts. He’s got two wins and a 2nd to his name to date and clearly has upside. He won’t have any issues with the conditions today and expecting him to bounce back from his last start fail as a short priced fav.

(3) Scenic Warrior was quickly put away after a 7th at Kembla Grange in a strong Class 1 last prep. Rammstein won that race and has since progressed nicely to Saturday grade. Won his maiden on debut over this trip on a heavy track and gets a very similar setup today. 

(1) No Laughing Matter won a similar race to this last start and grows another leg on heavy tracks. Will put himself up on the speed and has been racing well this prep. Could easily repeat last starts tactics and get away with this. 

(2) Arctic Thunder flies fresh and I don;t midn him tackling this shorter trip after a freshen up. Handles all conditions and gets in nice and light with a 3kg claim for Ellen Hennessy and rarely puts in a bad run.

(2) Tamerlane looks ready to win now 4th up from a spell. Worked home solidly last start with Berry aboard and like the fact that he sticks for the ride again today. Has some form around some decent midweek horses and he should map for the perfect run today. 

(9) Escape Artist has been running well this prep but is probably not wanting it to be too wet. Loves this trip and in an open race, she will run well. 

(11) Imposing Beau started well in the market in a decent Saturday race before struggling to run out the trip. Happy to see him back to 1100 today where he has a good record and still looks to have upside. 

(6) Coco Cuber looks the value in the race and should be a big improver today 2nd up.

(6) Bethencourt was a huge run last start when finishing 2nd to the flying Papal Warrior. He was four weeks between runs there and will only improve from that. Looks well placed back in this company and should be hard to beat. 

(4) Fantastic Baby is a promising horse for Adam Duggan, having won three races and running 2nd on three other occasions across his six career starts. Deserves a crack at this level and Tommy Berry to ride is a good lead. 

(7) Rules Don’t Apply drops back in grade today and looks well placed. Enjoys this track/trip and Jmac from barrier 1 is a very likeable combo.

Happy to be with (2) Off Shaw here who looked a massive chance in the last on Saturday until it was unfortunately abandoned due to a very wet track. Will get his wet track again here today and looks perfectly placed coming into this off a close 2nd to his stablemate.

(8) Miss Einstein drops back in grade here and will be rock hard fit now 4th up from a spell. Has been a winner at her only try at this trip and loves the wet conditions. Her flashing 2nd two back behind the promising Expat was very good and looks suited in this grade.

(10) Kaptive wears blinkers for the first time today and his only career win came when 3rd up over this track/trip. Gets the exact same set up today but still probably needs to improve a couple of lengths off recent runs.
