Flemington Racing Tips: Monday, April 25th

While he’s got to carry the big weight I think (1) Steel Prince looks suited here getting out to this trip 4th up and has been improving with each run this prep. 3 wins from 5 starts 4th up and is proven over this trip unlike some other key chances.

If (2) Rousseau runs the trip he will obviously be a strong danger. Is on the up and two wins leading into this have been super impressive.

(7) Killourney rises strongly in grade but has been good at two runs this prep. I think he’ll get the trip and gets in nice and light.

(12) I Am Me is an exciting horse for Maher Eustace and looks a big chance to make it three wins on the trot. This toughest test to date but the fashion in which she has won her last two tells me she is going to be better than 78 grade.

(7) Quasedilla can sprint well fresh and while she resumes off a long spell, a recent jumpout was very impressive.

(3) Capriccio is no stranger to the Flemington straight and has competed in stronger grade than this.

(5) La Vina flies first up and bolted in a recent trial. Has been scratched a few times this prep and prefers it wet. Could be worth watching the market.

(1) Tijuana was a good winner on debut after drifting in the market. Thought off the back of that he would enjoy stepping up in trip and should be able to find the front here and give a strong kick.

(8) Miss Dunford is on the very quick backup after finishing strongly from the back at Sandown. Sure to keep improving and rising to 1400 looks no issue.

(3) Bavicia debuts off the back of some good work at a recent jump out. One to watch in the yard.

(10) Foreign Raider hit the line hard on debut and has since had a freshen up. Sure to take improvement out of that and will be running on strongly here.

(8) Tarzi Calling looks a runner on the up and happy to side with him off the back of a dominant maiden win. Up to 1400m looks ideal and the booking of Jamie Kah is a strong lead.

(2) Cardigan Queen will enjoy getting back to a big Flemington track after the Bendigo run where nothing rrally went right. She’s clearly talented but punters patience must be wearing thin.

(3) Asymmetrical is flying and the form around him has been stacking up. Beat Comica two back who has since won in town and was only beaten by Gundec last start. Proven at 1400m and Flemington should suit.

(7) Suparazi is flying and continues to progress through the grades.

(5) Flash Aah won in dominant fashion at a huge price fresh and looks to have come back in top order. 2nd up record is even better and just needs to handle the step up to 1700m.

(1) Cherry Tortoni is the class runner here and flew home to win well last start over 1600m. Has been running well all prep and loves racing here at Flemington.

(2) King Magnus finished midfield last start in the Doncaster and was hardly disgraced just 5L off Mr Brightside. This is the easiest race he’s contested contested for a while and sure to be right in the finish.

(8) Makram will be fitter off that fresh run and has a good 2nd up record.

(7) Don’t Doubt Dory looks ready to do something 4th up. Is a winner at the track.

Keen to see (4) Squid Game back at the races following a succesful debut prep. Won two on the bounce before running 3rd to the smart Clemenceau. Won a recent jump out in readiness for this and was winner this track/trip last prep.

(6) Kooled did a bit wrong first up when having first start for new stable and since being gelded but was still far too strong. He can go on with it now and think we will see the best of him this prep.

(1) Corkscrew is progressive and has won two on the bounce this prep. Speedy out of the gates and can take some running down.

(7) Hunnam is hard fit and 3rd up now off two good runs. Will be suited at 1200m.

Tip: (4) Squid Game  - $3.35 at BoomBet

Value: (6) Kooled - $13 at PlayUp

No prizes for finding him but (1) Alegron looks incredibly hard to beat here off the back of a 3rd to Hitotsu in the Derby. I think getting onto a dry track here is a massive positive and rising to this trip should prove no issue for him. Class should carry him a long way here.

(3) Raging Bull is another who will appreciate a drier surface. He’s primed to run this trip and I think he can certainly fill the placings.

(4) Zoumon will roll to the front and has been good this prep. This stable loves this race, winning 3 of the last 4 and no doubt have had him set for this.

(2) The Cunning Fox  rarely runs a bad race and was good over 2400m in stakes grade last time out. He’s in the best form of his career and is sure to be in this if he can run the trip out.

(11) Jucconi is a horse on the up and brings winning form into this. Has won three of four career starts with only miss being a 2nd to Growl. Gets a nice run from barrier 4 today and will be hard to hold out.

(3) Amboone is a huge price off the back of a very good fresh run. Carried a big weight and was caught wide but kept finding to the line. This is harder but draws low today and gets weight relief. Can run a hole.

(10) Invincible Jet could be tough to run down if he finds the front without much issue. Only nailed late in a very similar race to this last start.

(12) Rockribbed was back to best form last time out. The draw is a bit sticky here but any luck and he should be in the finish.
