We look towards Hawkesbury today where there is an eight-race card to get stuck into. The track is currently rated a soft 5 and the rail is out 3 metres. Fine weather is predicted so we should be racing on a reasonably dry track for the most part.

(8) My Snow Queen takes on the older horses for the first time today but looks to have a bit of ability. Finished 3rd in a very strong form race behind the likes of Billiondollarbaby and will be suited getting to 1300m today. Will only need to take natural improvement from that to be a good chance in this, which looks a pretty weak maiden.

(2) Pyramix is only lightly raced with 3 spaced out starts to his name. Has been trialling well in the lead up to this and if he finds his best form he can win.

Thought the maiden win of (3) In De Sun Iwilcome was that of a good horse and looks well placed here today stepping to class 1 grade. It was a tough win sitting just off the speed that day and now looks ready for this trip. Gets senior rider in Rachel King on and should be able enjoy a gun run from barrier 2. Looks progressive.

(5) Clear Blonde is a big danger, with the blinkers going on for the first time 3rd up from a spell is always a combination I like to follow. Hit the line well over 1300m last start and now looks ready to peak.

(2) High Academy can improve back onto a dry track. Has run well 2nd up before and will roll forward from the wide draw.

(6) Aperol Sprint was a very good winner last start at Wagga over 2000m. Is in career best form this prep and will be primed for this 4th up. This race is no harder than her last win and looks a decent bet at the current $7.50+.

(2) Deepwood Vale has always shown plenty of talent and ran a good 3rd last start. Steps out to this sort of trip for the first time and that could be the trick for her. She’ll be getting back from the gate though and happy to take her on.

(5) Wild Sheila has been progressing nicely this prep and was rewarded with a nice win last start over Deepwood Vale. Looks ready for this kind of setup 4th up to 2100m and should be in the finish once again.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
