Billy Bestford brings you his preview for the Narrandera Cup which comes up in race 7.

It’s a big meeting in country NSW today with Narrandera playing host to a good 8-race card. The highlight of the day is the Narrandera Cup which attracts a strong field of runners and comes up in Race 7.

The track is currently rated a heavy 9 after plenty of rain the last couple of days and the rail is in the true positon.

Plenty of gun wet trackers in this field which makes for a very interesting race here.

(4) Roman who grows an extra leg on heavy tracks, having won three and running a 2nd in four attempts on the going. He comes into this in flying form, winning two of last three. Puts himself up on speed and will be right in the finish.

(8) Power Me Up looks the obvious after stringing together three straight wins before tackling a strong Saturday race at Rosehill behind Wicklow. Looks well suited back to this grade and loves the 1600. Has had a quick little freshen up in between runs and drops 5.5kg from his Wagga win a couple of starts ago.

(1) Assault’n’bathory will likely lead them up as he normally does and looks ready for this trip now. Gets through the conditions and has proven himself in better races than this.

(3) Necessary drops out of a bm70 in town after tackling a strong Saturday race in Sydney. Will enjoy getting back to the mile and gets Blaike Mcdougall today.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
