Happy to stick with (2) Kermy who is bursting to win one, having run 2^nd by a head at both starts this prep. He gets back to his home track which is a tick, and his run last start was very good behind Captain Spud, who has won again since. He’s got race fitness over a couple of these, maps to control the race and will take a stack of running down.

Big watch on Frankel filly (9) Steinem who has opened favourite and jumped out fairly well.

Looking to find the map horse again here with (5) Blood Sweat Tears. He’s always shown a bit of talent- the maiden win was good against a couple of handy horses and he’s been gelded here, which seems to have helped if the jumpout is a guide. He went very well to win a Camperdown jumpout, has the blinkers on here and maps beautifully from barrier 3.

(6) Grand Pope wasn’t disgraced behind Oxley Road in the Zedative and did produce a big run at this T/D to win his maiden from back in the field. He’ll get back again and Julius takes the ride, which is a bit of a query, especially on a backmarker.

(2) Sukoot is a very good fresh horse and will be hard to hold out here. The 1400m is an ideal starting point given she’s never missed a place from 5 runs at the trip. A repeat of her 3^rd to Affair To Remember at Flemington last prep wins this and she’s jumped out nicely.

(5) Stretto is definitely good enough and can improve but I would’ve liked to see a touch more first up.

Trent Crebbin

Trent’s interest in the thoroughbred started out as a spark with Black Caviar, became a flame with Winx, and has now intensified into a burning obsession with Arcadia Queen. He started out throwing loose change on random trifectas at the pub, but it wasn’t long before he was watching replays and looking at sectionals, weights and markets. Trent specializes in Victorian racing and hopes his first winner as an owner is just around the corner.
