(6) Suppression has been crying out for a 2000m maiden and gets that here. His last start at Pakenham over the mile was good in a strongly run race and he kept grinding to the line there, running the race’s 2nd fastest last 200m. He should be able to settle close from barrier one and the step up in trip should see him going very close.

I was keen on (12) Flandersrain last start and it was dominant win in bm64 grade, leading all the way. She’s shown in the past that she’s definitely up to this level and has clearly come back very well. Some of her 3yo form including a 3rd to Paradee at group 3 level makes her exceptionally hard to beat here, and she was only 2nd up last start. She drops 2.5kg in weight, draws perfectly in barrier 4 and should go close again.

(11) Caffrey is the danger and can bounce back off a poor run last start in a stronger race. The run two back when 2nd to Fundraiser was very good and although he struggles to win the stable is flying and he looks well placed.

Trent Crebbin

Trent’s interest in the thoroughbred started out as a spark with Black Caviar, became a flame with Winx, and has now intensified into a burning obsession with Arcadia Queen. He started out throwing loose change on random trifectas at the pub, but it wasn’t long before he was watching replays and looking at sectionals, weights and markets.
