Looks a simple two bet play here. (3) Faretti won well in this grade first up at Geelong and was probably a touch outclassed in a stronger race at Caulfield won by Dirty Thoughts, who won again yesterday. Key to note Faretti was well backed into $6 there and 3rd up last prep he won easily. The speed map is ideal for him here, drawn 2 he should jump and lead with very little pressure.

(5) Yulong Storm can bounce back at 1200m. I don’t think he ran out the 1400m last start at Flemington in a shuffly race, but the two runs prior over 6 furlongs were excellent behind Rainbiel and Corner Pocket. Froggy gets back on and he’ll run another good race.

(3) Skyman can win this. He hit the line well for 2nd behind Floating Artist, who is probably a moral in the Coongy on Wednesday. Gets in well at the weights, draws ideally again and should be peaking 4th up.

(4) Winning Partner hit the line well behind Viral & Skyman three back and won the Balaklava Cup impressively last start when backed off the map. He easily accounted for Second Slip there who ran very well in the Toorak yesterday.

(10) Mr Brightside is clearly the horse to beat again, he’s a ripper and keeps performing well. Down to 54kg, he’ll be very hard to run down again, but I did think his last start was potentially not as strong as a couple before. He’s been up a long time and whilst there’s no reason to jump off, at even money I wouldn’t be shocked if the run comes to an end.

Trent Crebbin

Trent’s interest in the thoroughbred started out as a spark with Black Caviar, became a flame with Winx, and has now intensified into a burning obsession with Arcadia Queen. He started out throwing loose change on random trifectas at the pub, but it wasn’t long before he was watching replays and looking at sectionals, weights and markets. Trent specializes in Victorian racing and hopes his first winner as an owner is just around the corner.
