(3) Ripon Falls improved significantly at his second start for the new stable, running 2nd over this track and distance. Some query as to the strength of that form but this isn’t a good race.
(6) The Slug probably comes out of the best form races and has placed in two of his past three starts. He gets Pike on board which is a big plus but he also steps up from 1500m to 2000m which isn’t easy to do.
(5) Ellevista next best.

(1) Oceanic Raider looks the one to beat here on current form, running 2nd to Kaptain Kaos on debut, who then came out and won well again, before running 4th to He’s Gold in town last start. He was only a length off the winner on that occasion and he should find this a much easier assignment. He’s the one to beat but $1.85 is too short for me.
I’m actually interested in (4) Amelia’s Picante for Simon Miller and William Pike. The stable is absolutely on fire at the moment and they bring just the two runners to Bunbury today, which both line up in this race. Since returning from Melbourne, Pike has had three rides for Miller, resulting in three wins. He rides at a strike rate of 36% for him.
(6) Enduring Memory makes her debut for local trainer Lou Luciani and Jason Whiting chooses to stick with her from the trials. her recent trial was good and she can be included at each way odds.
(3) Lucifer and (5) Belgrano Belle next best.

Dan Morton brings just one runner to Bunbury today and that’s (4) War Warrior, who has trialled well twice this time in. He had one trial back in September but was tipped out after that, however his two trials this time in have been good. Wears the blinkers here, as he did in his trial and with even luck he should be hard to beat.
(6) Crown Of Flowers is the other one in the race I’ll be backing. She’s a $7.50 chance here and I think that’s a decent enough price. She had support lasty start and improved nicely to run 3rd. That was her second start for the new stable and she’s now third up and on her home track. Jimmy Grieve has a great record at Bunbury, with three winners and five placings from 11 starters this season. Should go forward and be there for a long way.
(5) Starlift draws 1 to either lead or box seat. Is knocking on the door with four placings from as many starts and obviously has strong claims.
(8) Chick Flix is an interesting runner first up from more than a year off the track.

Keen on (5) Image Keeper here, who resumes from a spell for Brock Lewthwaite and William Pike. He’s had one start which was back in November at Mount Barker, where he settled back in the field and was running on strongly in the straight before being completely cut in half about 100m from home. The form guide says he finished 8th but he really should have finished much closer. Pike goes on first up today, which is a good sign with this stable, the tongue tie also goes on and he’s won his only trial leading into this first up run. Expecting a big run.
(8) Venetian Jewel is one of two runners for Michael Lane today and you always have to take note of his runners here at Bunbury. She’s first up from a 38-week spell with no public trial. Draws well and has to be respected. $6.00 is a backable price.
(9) Youdoyou ran well first up here at Bunbury. She was well-backed from $2.80 into $2.35 and was beaten less than a length in 2nd after sitting three-wide the trip. With a better run in transit today, she’ll take some beating.
Tip: (5) Image Keeper $3.90 TopSport

(6) Medellin is over the odds at $9.00 here. His run first up was good and he then beat Prized Nemesis over 1100m here last start. That horse then came out and won in town, so the form looks reasonable. Steps up from 1100m to 1400m today which is the query but he’s a decent price.
(4) Mini Winnie was a dominant winner over this track and distance last start and prior to that ran well behind Ladies Of London. Should get a nice run from the barrier and looks hard to beat.
(1) Double Spice is racing well and looks an obvious chance.

(5) Chief Archer draws a plum gate in barrier 1 today and gets Troy Turner back aboard. He’s won three of his six starts here at Bunbury and can give this a real shake.
Pike is booked on (1) Come Right Back who resumes over the 1690m. Finds a very suitable race but will be interesting to see where he ends up in the run from barrier 6. Hard to beat.
(4) Kakadu can be the big improver third up from a spell. He’s never won from 13 starts first or second up, but has two wins from five starts when third up.
(6) Friar’s Fantasia is another that loves this track and can go well.

Lindsey Smith brings one runner to Bunbury today and that’s (4) Apple Schnapps, with Brad Rawiller to ride. He drops out of a 3YO Handicap in town first up back to a Class 1 on a Wednesday. He won second up last prep and should be very hard to beat here.
(2) Mong Khon resented the blinkers last start so they come off today. His first up run was good at Pinjarra and the stable have a good record here at Bunbury. Barrier 10 is the issue but with the blinkers off, he should show good improvement.
(3) Zangief has returned in good order and came from last to win here last start. This is tougher.
(13) Miss Aligned can settle closer from barrier 4 and can be competitive at each way odds.
Tip: (4) Apple Schnapps $2.70 Bet365
Saver: (2) Mong Khon $4.60 TAB
Betting Strategy: 2 units WIN Apple Schnapps, 0.5 units WIN Mong Khon
