This girl’s debut was very good, and I expect her to walk away from Gosford with an unbeaten record. (4) Harmony Rose sat a couple of lengths back in third throughout the run at Kembla Grange and even when the leader kicked away entering the straight, she stuck to her task well and evened up to her around 200m out. In her final 100m, she surged clear showing that she was not only too good for her rivals, but that she would appreciate further. Although she is drawn poorly, there appears to be little speed in this race and she should get to the lead with very little concern. Tyler Schiller retains the ride, which gives her a 2kg claim which will be beneficial for her in the later stages. She is $1.95 as I write this, expect her to start $1.60 or shorter. She is the best bet on the card.

(4) Sahra had a particularly good first preparation, winning her debut race by 3.3L on a Soft 6 at Kembla Grange before fighting to the end at Rosehill on a Heavy 8. In that race, she fought hard despite racing greenly throughout the early and middle stages of the race and being steadied off heels around the 350m mark. She beat all but one horse in the race by at least 1.3L, with the horse she couldn’t get past was NORTH PACIFIC, who beat her by 2.5L. She is returning on the back of one quiet trial which was over a month ago and has been out of action since, waiting for a dry or drying track which she will get here. She is drawn well enough to sit closer in the run, but she is classy so expect her to be right there in the finish regardless of where she ends up in the run.

(6) Sir Rocket returned a month ago after 421 days off and just narrowly held off his opposition in a brave effort. I think that it is a great idea spacing that first run to this one by a month, to just let him recover after running a solid race after such a long layoff. He is drawn ideally to sit predominantly again which will put him in a good position for the run home on this smallish Gosford track. Expect another solid run from this boy.

This girl has started to find her straps this preparation with a win and a placing over her last two runs, both at this track. (2) Off Her Roca hit the line nicely two back over the mile saluting by just under a length before her last run where she was no match for the winner, finishing second by 2.5 lengths. I don’t think the track being soft or good will worry her, but the step up to 1900m looks to put her in front of her rivals and with little speed on paper, I expect her to sit third or fourth throughout from the nice draw and be hard to hold out late.
