This is a hot bm68 to start the day with some talented up-and-comers engaged. 

Thought the first up win of (3) Arthur Francis was super, letting down strongly to win in easy fashion over this trip. That was his first start as a gelding and it looked as if it may have done the trick. Hoping he can handle the rise to this grade today and looks a good winning chance with Bowman jumping on today. 

(2) Starman brings the strongest recent form to this race. He won his maiden on debut very well and held his own in a good Saturday race last start. Drop back in trip shouldn’t be an issue. 

(1) Park Avenue has the runs on the board with some handy form lines from his debut prep. Finished 3rd to In The Congo there and should take a heap of improvement out of that first up run. Maps for all the favours. 

(9) Hoover Lucy was smashed in betting first up in the same race Starman comes out of but she didn’t do herself any favours in the run. Can bounce back here.

Think (4) Vivid Art can go one better than he did fresh, and gets a nice weight swing on Sunborn from that performance. Should be able to lead or sit OSL and should take plenty of benefit from that first up run. Has been a winner 2nd up before and 1600 is his go. 

(6) Sunborn has finally found her form and is racing very well this prep. She looks like she’ll enjoy every but of the mile and Bowman sticks for the ride after the last start win. 

(3) Majella seemed to have every hope last start but could only manage third. Has been racing solidly all prep and will once again look a winning chance at some stage.

Hard to tip against (6) Solar Apex here who could not have returned to racing any more impressively last start following a gelding operation. That has clearly done wonders for him after that first up win, being eased down to win by 2L over a strong bm72 field. Jmac sticks for the ride today and he looks well weighted while remaining in the same grade. Can find a nice trail in behind the leaders and be too strong once again. 

(1) Unamerican has found form, winning his last two in good order. Both those came here at Gosford and he’s 4 wins from 5 starts over 1900m. 

Think Solar Apex will be winning but the current $1.75 looks rock bottom odds so sitting this one out.

(4) Quantico returns as a gelding for the first time and always does his best work on the fresh side. Was down to run in a strong Saturday race the other week before being scratched due to the wet track. Gets favourable conditions today and this horse has some serious ability. Hoping the ultimate gear change may do the trick with him and he can regain some of his best form here.

Will be having something on (8) Plonka who is a much better horse with a run under his belt. Returning to NSW should suit him and this is an easier race than he tackled fresh. Up to 1200m is a tick and he looks overs.

The stablemate of Plonka in (10) Cream Rises looks a big threat. Very lightly raced and a couple of quiet trials leading into today suggest the horse has come back well. Was a winner this track/trip on debut.

(6) Shibli has been building towards a win this prep and I think this looks his best chance to today. 3rd up now and hard fit compared to some of his key rivals here, Bowman from the good draw can find a nice midfield position and he can be strongest late. 

(11) Three Wise Men could be the X-factor runner, following an impressive first up win over 1300m. He tackled some hot races as a 2yo and some of that form reads pretty well for this. Think he may have come back a better horse this time around. 

(5) Mightybeel first up over 1600 for Waller/Jmac is always going to be in the mix and woudn’t surprise to see him in the finish. 

(3) So United won well fresh against a decent midweek field at this track. Will roll forward and probably be the one they’ve got to run down.

(2) Juan Diva is a horse I’ve always had a bit of time for and probably should have won more races than she has. Her pattern means she sometimes needs a bit of luck but this race is well within her reach. Probably should have won first up last prep and won a trial leading into this very convincingly. Hoping Clark can be a touch positive from gate 3 and she can let rip if the gaps come. 

(1) Nags To Riches is the class horse but has to lump 61kg because of it. 1 win from 1 start here at Gosford and might enjoy getting away from the tight Kenso track. This is much easier than she’s been facing this prep. 

(4) Escape Artist rarely runs a bad race and will once again be rattling home. Has had three weeks between runs now and that might help.

(2) Belluci Babe just doesn’t know how to run a poor race, missing trifecta just once in 10 career starts. She goes well fresh and has been tuned up for this with an effortless trial win over 800m. She can put herself up on the speed from the low draw and hoping she can be too good for these. SP profile is good for a race like this, starting favourite in some strong Saturday races last prep against horses better than she faces today. Early market support is a good sign that she’s ready to go.

(4) Enfluerage looks the main threat and has race fitness edge on BB. Will roll forward from the inside draw and might just be too hard to catch 3rd up and racing well. 

(9) Thudson flies fresh and looks a bit over the odds for mine. Tackled some better races than this last prep and brings some different form lines from Victoria. Won’t be losing on him.
