It’s Goulburn Cup day this Sunday and we have a quality eight race card to sink our teeth into.

It’s perfect conditions today with the track rated a good 4 and the rail in the true position.

Billy Bestford has found a couple of bets on the card today as we look to round out the weekend with some winners.

(1) Zoumist was pretty good first up in a strong race at Randwick. Didn’t have much luck there caught wide but did well to stick on and I think she’ll be a lot better for that run. Drops in grade for this now and she’s been a winner 2nd up in the past.

(3) Sally Pops is another who goes very well with a run under the belt and she looks the hardest to beat here. I think she will improve back onto a dry track and will probably be up on speed and tough to run down.

Pretty keen to be with (1) Art Cadeau here who comes into this off the back of a very good first up win in The Kosciusko. He’s just an incredibly consistent horse, having not missed the quinella in all 12 career runs! That Kosci win was off the back of a very long spell so you’d expect him to be even better now 2nd up and I like him rising to 1400m. Might need a touch of luck from the barrier but he is the best horse in this race.

(6) Al Mah Haha loves racing here and is 2/2 over this track/trip. He’s been going around in some good quality city races and should get every favour today from barrier 3.

(3) Kirwin’s Lane resumes today and was running well in some black type races last prep. Trials have been sound and if he can bring his best form he will be a big chance.

(2) Starspangled Rodeo next best.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
