(1) Elite Icon was good down the straight on debut during rapid racing. He should be able to land just behind the leaders and a repeat of that performance will be very competitive here.

(5) Suparazi has won a couple of jumpouts well. He should be competitive in a fairly thin race.

(9) Zouvalu is ready to win and jumped out well with last night’s impressive winner, Always On My Mind.

Not much interest here.

Siding with (2) Benczkowski here. He sat on speed first up and ran well but the winner had his back and was just a bit too strong late. That winner was Pounding, who ran very well in a 3yo bm64 behind Pascero on Wednesday. He maps for a very soft run and looks well placed.

(3) Elzamee got keen at Flemington last start in a slowly run race. He gets the cross over nose band to try and fix that.

(4) Rock Wave will roll forward and potentially lead. He was solid in a strong bm64 last start.

(6) Zoutellus doesn’t win often but was solid leading last start at 1500m. A strong mile is a query although he did stick on well in a fast mile at Caulfield one day.

Tip: (2) Benczkowski- $4.60 at TAB

Betting Strategy: 0.5 units WIN Benczkowski

Sticking with (1) Nerve Not Verve. I was with her last start at big odds and she ran very well at Flemington, running 2nd and just overrun late. She drops back to her own sex here and is 2/3 at the T/D. She maps to lead fairly comfortably here and she’s a good price.

(7) Oh So Far was good first up behind Marcolt, hitting the line well. She’s jumped out between runs but will get back again.

(3) My Delight was too strong for (5) Shezadandi last start but the latter had a shorter SP and gets 2.5kg off the former.

121110.2

(9) Royal Dress had a tough run on debut in SA but still proved too strong despite sitting 3 wide on speed the trip. She’s jumped out very nicely, winning both and doing it easily. Not sure if she leads from barrier 2 but she’ll be handy and hard to beat with even luck.

(2) Joseylin won in okay fashion down the straight last start and has been consistent all prep in some decent form races. She can sit just off them and finish well again.

(8) Dancelittlesister won well on debut before taking on a stronger race and failing before a spell. She’s got plenty of early speed and has jumped out brilliantly at Cranbourne, doing it easily against Pinstriped who won last week impressively. She might be able to lead these and be hard to run down.

At the prices I’m backing Dancelittlesister and saving Royal Dress. Fairly confident one of them can win.

(9) Rock Of Kryptonite has won a trial by 8L in readiness for this, showing good speed to lead and bolt in. He seems to race best fresh and a firm track is also what he needs to show his best. Don’t love the draw but he’s got upside.

(6) Destiny Diamond is flying this prep although the 955m is a bit of a query given she’s been winning over 1100m.

(13) Citaleon has trialled well. He’s another with upside that has started right in the market at every start. Don’t love the jockey booking in town.

(1) Heavenly Bridges improved nicely 2nd up and can run well here.

413443
12. Sheezabigdeel (11) J: Jye Mcneil (57kg) T: Matt Cumani

(5) Teofilo Star is the one with upside that appeals. He started $1.35 at Geelong last start and was far too good leading all the way with big gaps through the field. It wasn’t the strongest race but it rated relatively well off a strong speed and expect he’s even fitter now. In a race where most have hit their peak or indeed gone past it, Teofilo Star is yet to get near it.

(8) Emerging bolted in two back in a slowly run race then got too far back in another slow race at Flemington, dropping back in trip. Up in trip here he can improve again and like Teofilo Star, he’s got upside.

(7) Spirit Of Gold is racing very well this prep. She hit the line well at Caulfield last start and if she can extend that to 2500m she should run well again.

(4) Eaton is proven at this trip and class. He maps for a soft run.

Tip: (5) Teofilo Star- $3.80 at Ladbrokes

Betting Strategy: 1.5 units WIN Teofilo Star

Tough race. (12) Aeecee Dolce is bred to stay. She led last start at Warrnambool and stuck on well. Not sure if she leads here but she’s only had 5 starts and her last was her best, so expect she can continue to improve out in trip.

(10) Delta Tango looked good winning at Ararat last start but does get an equicast on here which is never a good sign.

(5) Think Bold wasn’t suited by a slow tempo at Flemington and can improve.

(4) Za’ex won in okay style last start and can progress.

(5) Seguso looks the one to beat. He was brave sitting wide on speed (albeit out of the chute) at Caulfield last start in a strong bm64, going down by a nose to Kentucky Casanova. The first up win was strong and with even luck from the gate he’ll be very hard to beat.

(3) Shotmaker stuck on well first up at Pakenham. He’s a bit hit and miss but that was a decent race and Yulong Code has won out of it since. He might be able to lead from the gate and be hard to run down.

One of them should be winning here, but (4) Rock Tycoon is always some hope in these races and had no luck two back.

Tip: (5) Seguso- $2.60 at Sportsbet

Also Backing: (3) Shotmaker- $4.20 at TAB

Betting Strategy: 2.5 units WIN Seguso, 1 unit WIN Shotmaker

Trent’s interest in the thoroughbred started out as a spark with Black Caviar, became a flame with Winx, and has now intensified into a burning obsession with Arcadia Queen. He started out throwing loose change on random trifectas at the pub, but it wasn’t long before he was watching replays and looking at sectionals, weights and markets. Trent specializes in Victorian racing and hopes his first winner as an owner is just around the corner.
