Interested to see (1) Repeal in action today with Tommy Berry to ride. Ran a good 4th in a high-rating 2yo race fresh before bolting in a Pakenham maiden last start. Will only take improvement from that run, and while the drop back in trip is a query, I think he could be a class above this lot. 

(3) Asherla finished 2nd in both career starts and resumes today following a strong trial win over 800m. Looks ready to fire today and should go straight to the lead from the inside draw.

(5) Goofy Mick is still only very lightly raced and looks to have plenty of scope to improve. Is a track/trip specialist here, with his only wins coming here over the 1000m. Has race fitness on his side today and Jeff Penza will have options from barrier 7. 

(4) Remorseless hasn’t been seen at the races for almost 8 months but has been ticking over nicely with two recent trial wins. Looks a horse with upside and has to be a big danger. 

(2) Patagonian will be suited stepping up to 1000m today after a tough 2nd last start over a shorter trip.

Think (10) Nitride can give this a good shake today. Loves racing here and is a 1280m specialist with 3 wins from 5 starts over the trip. Has been in good form of late, and will see every favour from the nice draw. 

(8) Ranges has to be the danger, bringing the strongest form lines into a race like this. Was a good winner at Newcastle two back before enduring a tough run last start in a strong bm72, finishing 6th. Tommy Berry takes the ride and you’d think he will go close. 

(4) Patrick May is in a purple patch of form, winning two of his last three. Was a good winner over 1200m last start and the slight rise in trip will suit him today. Handles all conditions and you can’t knock him.
