Reasonably open race to start the day but (1) Antonio Giovanni has looked the part in a few trials and finally makes his debut today. Mcdonald goes straight on here and we know the incredible strike rate that Waller and himself have recently. I think at the price currently he looks a bet and might go on to win a few good races.

(4) Mokula will have race fitness on her side and looks ready to win now 3rd up from a spell. She flew home behind the smart Profondo two weeks ago and that form might end up being very strong.

(9) Otelo is another who looks close to breaking through today following multiple placings this prep. Rise to 1400 will suit.

Tip: (1) Antonio Giovanni - $6.00 at TopSport

Betting Strategy: 1u WIN Antonio Giovanni

(7) I Am Brazen was absolutely smashed in the market on debut following some handy lead up work. She didn’t finish off well enough there and I think it could be worth forgiving there due to the wet conditions. She’ll be better for that experience and won’t be a maiden for too long.

(12) Mayrose has been unlucly in both starts so far, arguably should have won at least one of those. She should go forward from barrier 1 here and take luck out of the equation, will be hard to beat.

Another very tough race here but (4) Shibli goes on top for me. The quick backup tells me he’s pulled up fine from last week’s decent performance behind a smart one and should be ready to win now. 1800m should suit and should find a nice back to follow from barrier 9.

(7) Conegliano has a bit of X Factor about him, winning his last two starts. The most recent of those was full of merit, coming up the inside where it was inferior ground on the day. Gets in very light after the claim for Brock Ryan and fill a hole.

(3) Dream Runner is one of the few horses here who’s proven over this trip and I don’t mind him dropping back from 2400m. That was a stronger race than this and he continues to run well this prep.

With the scratching of our top two picks, Dream Runner goes on top but it’s now a no bet race.

(3) Jojo Was A Man has been a bit costly in his short career so far but I thought his last start run here was full of merit. Made a heap of ground late on and was doing his best work the further they went. The rise in trip here looks ideal and I’m happy to see Bowman has stuck again for the ride. Small field today should help his chances as well.

Can’t knock the form of (6) Ita who has really hit her straps for Bjorn Baker this prep. She’s strung two good wins together now and deserves a crack in this grade.

(7) Crazy Train was an easy winner last start following a little freshen up. He can once again measure up today.

With the scratching of Jojo Was A Man, Crazy Train goes on top in a no bet race.

(6) Promise Of Success is another who’s been costly to punters but you could argue she’s been very unlucky in a few of those starts. Her pattern doesn’t help but she has plenty of upside and I think the freshen up will have done her a world of good and should be ready to fire first up here. Thinking the wide draw will be of benefit and in the small field she shouldn’t find herself too far off the leaders. Hoping the track plays pretty fair and she’ll be strongest late.

While I’m pretty confident Promise Of Success will be winning, (7) Rathvilly Miss looks a great value chance. Is a pretty bombproof horse in these midweek bm72s. She keeps defying her market price and looks ready for a big performance 3rd up.

Nothing wrong with the first up win of (4) Calgary Queen who looks to have come back in terrific order. Loves racing here and has been a winner 2nd up before. Handles all conditions and just knows how to win.

(3) Eight Diamonds has been well fancied in tougher races than this lately. Jmac jumps on here and she can regain some form back in this grade.

Thinking (11) A Very Fine Red looks a good winning chance here. Found the line pretty well first up on a heavy track here, which I don’t think she fully enjoyed. Should get more suitable conditions today and they take the blinkers off.

(9) Overmann is a classy 3yo who finished last prep tackling the G1 JJ Atkins. He was outclassed there but he proved himself as a top class horse and if he’s taken any improvement into this season, he’ll be winning a few. Not sure if he’ll be sharp enough for some of these over 1150m though.

(1) I Say Hello flies fresh and has trialled well for her return. She’s only missed the trifecta once in six starts.

(6) Juan Diva is talented and her best is definetely good enough here. Was unlucky not to win a similar race to this first up last prep and maps for a nice run.

Another tough race to finish the day. Will put (11) Bluff ‘n’ Bluster on top with little confidence. He was very good last start behind Brookspire here three weeks ago and he runs a strong 1400m. Hoping he can go one better today.

(9) Sequana looks another strong chance following two improving runs this prep. Ready for 1400 now and Bowman should be able to follow something into the race and let down late.

(7) Super Contender was probably a big beneficiary of the on-speed bias here last time out but Jmac sticks, he is proven in this grade and will take improvement out of the first up performance.

If (5) Escaped can find the front without too much trouble he’ll be in the finish as well. Back onto dry should suit.

Could easily have still missed the winner.

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
