Cracking race to open the day here with a couple of boom horses doing battle.

(1) Money From The Sky was absolutely enormous on debut and we were on him that day. Lost no fans there and if anything, made me more keen to follow him this prep. I honestly think he’s a massive chance for the Spring Champion and hopefully can find a better spot in running today and let loose with that turn of foot he showed. Should be favourite.

(6) Profondo is all the rage in early markets after showing plenty of ability in 4 trials to date. He cost $1.9m and I think there is a fair bit of hype about him for that fact alone. He’s drawn poorly and will need to do everything right from out there. Clearly is good enough but might need a few runs under his belt.

Tip: (1) Money From The Sky - $3.40 at Ladbrokes

(4) Terwilliker is probably more suited back in this grade but finds it hard to win. Ran well last start in a stronger race and is rock hard fit for this. Maps for a nice run up on speed and gets Bowman in the saddle.

(2) Dream Runner steps out to this trip for the first time and always performs well in these sorts of races. Will be spotting Terwiliker a start however but is definitely good enough to win here.

(5) True Marvel is another who finds it hard to win but is very honest. Should be suited after a little freshen up now and back in trip.

Was impressed with the debut win of (6) Journalism where he just refused to let anything else win. Showed plenty of fight for a horse having his first start and gets the best front-running jock in the business aboard now. Can win again.

(3) Flying Crazy was disappointing last start following one of the best debut wins you’ll see. He bumped into a smart horse in Conrad there and can improve now 3rd up and at peak fitness.

Can’t knock the winning form of (5) Turning who has won two in a row at the provincials and gets a crack in town now. Should put himself up on speed and clearly he knows how to find the line.

(3) Majella has been flying this prep and was unlucky not to finish closer last start. That was following a very good win in similar grade to this and is now ready to peak 4th up. She’s unbeaten in two 4th up runs previously. Rachel King hasn’t been in the best of form but she won’t get a better chance than here to break through.

(6) Gunga Din can definitely win here, and is another who should be at peak fitness now. Worked home well last start and looks suited back to the Kenso track. Has a strong 4th up record and should be right in the finish.

(4) Metro Legend comes out of the strongest race I think and looks another winning chance. So luck as he can slot in from the wide gate or find the front without burning too much fuel, he can win.

Think (9) Morioka looks well placed taking on the older horses today. She’s been looking airborne at the trials recently and while still a maiden, the stable clearly has a high opinion of her taking on this sort of race first up. Jmac booked and I think she’s got a bit more upside than a few of these.

(1) Brazen Gem gets in well after the claim for Brock Ryan and is much more suited back in midweek grade. She’s honest and has been super competitive in these sorts of races.

(6) Silhouette bumped into a handy horse fresh but beat the rest of the field easily. She can improve 2nd up and Mcevoy sticks for the ride today.

(4) Lettre D’amour looks the value runner and is suited back up in trip here. Should be able to find the front from the low draw and can give a kick with the 4kg claim on her back.

Tip: (9) Morioka - $2.75 at Bet365

Keen to see (11) Park Avenue back at the races after an impressive debut prep. He was last seen finishing 3rd in a strong race behind Verne and In The Congo which looks very good form now. Trials have been good and I think he can make a winning return to racing.

(1) Rustic Steel is probably the class horse in the race and knows how to find the line. 3 wins from 6 starts and the 4th last time out was better than it reads on paper. That was behind King of Sparta and he now gets back to a track he enjoys racing on. Should be going close.

(8) Jojo Was A Man was disappointing first up and was unwanted by the market. He’s got ability and it wouldn;t surprise to see him bounce back today.

(8) Sky Command pulled up with post-race issues following her 8th in the Rosebud behind Paulele and In The Congo. She started $5 that day and those two horse have since come back in incredible order this prep. She can make a winning return to the track and Jmac has a knack for rounding out the day with a winner.

(5) Duchess was a tough winner last start and made amends for an unlucky run before that. Is beginning to build a handy record and absolutely loves the 1100m.

I’ve been with (6) Miss Dior all prep but she just keeps finding one or two better. Looks ready to pull out a peak run now 4th up and Bowman can find a handy position from the inside draw.

(3) Stoical next best and has been competitive in every run this prep.

Tip: (8) Sky Command - $3.20 at Ladbrokes

Betting Strategy: 2u WIN Sky Command

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
