(4) Three Kings was wide and faded as the odds on favourite on debut. He’s trialled very well since and Currie jumps off a leading chance to be with him. Divina Calle came out of the SA run and beat home Salamanders, who was competitive against the leading form race here.

(6) Zerelle comes out of that race and was probably the one to follow. He was back and wide but kept coming on the line to run 3rd. Currie jumps off but no knock on Zahra taking over.

(2) Feudal Empire just missed in that race but did start $12 and is favourite here. Definitely a leading chance.

(5) Unforgiven hit the line well in the same race at $3.90 and was on debut there.

Just as tough. (1) South Parade is racing well but did get every favour last start on the Lakeside and could face a different set up here.

(4) The Big Easy comes out of the strongest race in Adelaide but has been up a long time and I think he’ll go back from the map.

(3) Ice Ice Baby is another racing well although I’m not sure about her at the end of 1300m and the race she comes out of is a bit average in my opinion.

Keener to play here with (5) Steinem who was a big drifted on debut at Pakenham but was very impressive from off the speed, recording the fastest last 600/400/200m of the entire meeting. That was a handy maiden and the gaps past 3rd in the field were huge. The daughter of Frankel will love the 1600m and looks more than capable of tackling bm64 grade.

(1) Gunmetal Girl drops slightly in grade after a good effort last start. Will need a bit of luck getting across early for the first try at 1600m but should go well.

(4) Maid Of Iron was solid first up behind South Parade. She gets up in trip quickly but should appreciate it being by Dundeel.

(6) Charging Ahead is another that should appreciate the trip on breeding, this time by So You Think.

Tip: (5) Steinem- $4.00 at TAB

Not sure what to do with (1) Zousonic at 1600m because on past form I don’t think she quite runs it. She has changed stables and hit the line strongly first up so maybe she will be better at the trip now, but I’d want to see it first.

(9) Mostly Sunny looks to have come back well and gets in well with 55.5kg here. A firm track is perhaps a slight knock but this is her level and she should be able to go forward.

(3) Monumental Lady was very good in the same race and comes here 3rd up. The mile definitely suits which should allow her to settle a pair closer and even though she’s started $51 and $41 this prep she’s flying and is a big price again.

(5) Contrition bolted in on a heavy track last start after a good run first up but gets onto a firm deck here and barrier one looks sticky.

Tip: (3) Monumental Lady- $19.00 at Sportsbet

Also Backing: (9) Mostly Sunny- $8.50 at TAB

Betting Strategy: 0.5 units E/W Monumental Lady, 0.5 units WIN Mostly Sunny

(4) Charleise should’ve won last start after missing the start and railing through, not really getting to build momentum until the 150m mark and getting nailed by one out wide. She’s a bit of a frustrating horse to follow but is very consistent and gets a positive jockey switch and good barrier here.

(1) Boom Boom Becker led all the way to deny a handy one in Garvoc last start. The 1400m with a big weight is the query as he’s never seen the trip.

(9) Facemask was good first up without a heap of luck. The stable are still going very well and have a 61.8% POT this season when Will Price rides for them. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him improve given he’s so lightly raced.

(3) Bel My Pago has been solid in all three runs this prep and should appreciate the 1400m.

Also Backing: (9) Facemask- $8.00 at Sportsbet

Odds Last Updated: March 31, 2021, 4:51pm (AEDT)

See no reason (3) Sign Seal Deliver can’t win again. He was very good first up at 1800m and was a narrow winner 2nd up at 2000m. Gets up to 2400m now which will suit given he’s run 2nd to Persan at 2500m, and he looks to get a lovely map again.

(7) Rebel Racer narrowly denied Sign Seal Deliver two back and was solid last start. Steps up in trip which shouldn’t be an issue, but I think Sign Seal Deliver has more improvement to come.

(2) Chaska looks the main danger coming off a 3.8L defeat to Playoffs and Fanciful Toff, who has won easily at Bendigo since. He’s had the 2500m run under the belt and the win two back was good.

(14) The Midnight Shift wasn’t far off the favourite last start and gets J Kah on, but he was beaten in a Kilmore bm58 first up and was winning hurdles last prep so it wouldn’t shock if he regresses.

Tip: (3) Sign Seal Deliver- $3.80 at Bet365

Also Backing: (2) Chaska- $10.00 at Sportsbet

Betting Strategy: 1.5 units WIN Sign Seal Deliver, 0.5 units WIN Chaska

Good race! (8) Deepstrike put in a great chase first up to win as the $1.65 favourite. He looks a real stayer on his way to the SA Derby so the 1800m will definitely suit. He was only beaten 3L by Ain’tnodeeldun in the Hill Smith at this trip last prep which is excellent form. There isn’t a stack of pace in the race which is the query.

(5) Nobel Heights should roll forward and it wouldn’t shock to see him lead given the lack of one on paper. He was very impressive first up, coming from midfield to put away a fairly strong field. No issues at the trip and he’ll be hard to beat again.

(7) Adventure Trip won well last start and gets Kah on from barrier 2, which should see him settle on speed.

(13) Token Spirit comes out of that brutal MV race behind Air Defence. Interested to see how that’s affected him.

Fairly confident the winner comes out of the top two in the market.

(4) Pale King was too strong first up at the 1600m, settling on speed and holding on. He’s unbeaten in 3 starts and the step up in trip will definitely help. In a race full of horses who have clearly met their mark, the upside sways me his way.

(7) Konkalikon is always a chance in this grade and I don’t mind him back to 1800m off a slightly disappointing run in the Stony Creek Cup.

(2) Vegas Knight would be a chance on his best form- that win one day over 2000m where he led and bolted in was very good but he’s been a bit average at both runs this prep. Respect any market moves that might suggest he’s going forward.

(6) Confrontational just looks to need further and I’d be waiting to back him too.

The favourite clearly on top but I don’t think there’s a massive edge so it’s not a huge play.

(9) Quesadilla looks a fair gamble at the price. She was fairly dominant at this T/D two back in a similar race and started $2.20 and was only beaten 0.5L at Cranbourne after that. She looks to get a nice run behind the speed and should be in the finish.

(14) Pinkham is the query. She promised everything this prep off the back of a 7L trial win and whilst she was okay first up, she was awful 2nd up at Flemington behind Marboosha. This is obviously much easier, but she’s still only won a Seymour maiden. The 1000m is probably her go but she’s hard to back.

(8) Queen Annabel looks the value. She should’ve finished closer to Sartorial Splendor at Mornington and Willo replaces Carleen Hefel which is a huge jockey switch. She races well here and wouldn’t shock.

(3) Not Enough Effort was in the same race and finished 1.2L off Queen Annabel after racing wide. He meets that horse 3.5kg better at the weights but Brian Park replaces Michael Dee which doesn’t fill me with confidence.

Tip: (9) Quesadilla- $6.00 at Sportsbet

Value: (8) Queen Annabel- $18.00 at Sportsbet

Betting Strategy: 0.75 units WIN Quesadilla, 0.25 units WIN Queen Annabel

Trent’s interest in the thoroughbred started out as a spark with Black Caviar, became a flame with Winx, and has now intensified into a burning obsession with Arcadia Queen. He started out throwing loose change on random trifectas at the pub, but it wasn’t long before he was watching replays and looking at sectionals, weights and markets.
