(2) Beagle’s debut run last pre reads very, running a narrow 2nd to Darceandermill, who has since run 2nd to Jigsaw. He went forward there from an inside chance so it’ll be interesting to see what Currie does from out wide. If he goes forward, he should be hard to beat.

(7) Growl looks the obvious danger with a good closing effort on debut. If he can settle closer he’ll be hard to hold out.

(11) Riverplate ran 2nd on debut in NZ and could measure up, with the winner of that race having some ability.

(3) Caliper has an attractive form line behind Zouzarella last start, who looks set to be a player in some of the 3yo filly’s feature this Spring. The query is how far back she gets from a wide draw.

(9) Israelite Bay ran well on debut and should settle in front of her main danger. Doubt 1400m will be any issue.

(2) Bon’s A Pearla was good late in the same race behind Israelite Bay and despite likely getting back again will appreciate the step up in trip

(7) Game Legend next best going forward on the map.

(12) Devout Hero has plenty of upside as the lone 3yo of the field. She easily accounted for Israelite Bay on debut and I think that form will stack up okay. Gets a lovely map from 4 and can win.

(10) Tametomo won first up last prep before taking on a strong race and running well behind Three Kings at Flemington.

(11) Sheeza Tilly gets in with 54kg after the claim and is coming off a long 2nd to The Garden which reads fairly well. Barrier 1 isn’t ideal.

Tip: (12) Devout Hero- $5.50 at TopSport

Siding with (5) Bainbridge on top on the quick backup from Swan Hill. I thought he fought on gamely there against Yulong Captain, which ties in well here. Been up a while but he’s still improving and getting out to 2400m last start certainly helped.

(2) Reflect The Stars is the danger. She’s run well her last two, the latest behind Smokin’ Romans when having every chance but holding down 2nd well. She can tie in through Yulong Captain and draws nicely.

(6) Hot Suspect has stacks of upside coming off maiden and bm64 wins. This is harder but he’s only had three career starts.

Tip: (5) Bainbridge- $5.00 at TAB

Saver: (2) Reflect The Stars- $4.60 at TopSport

(2) Hasseltoff has the class to win this and should be ready 3rd up. He comes out of the best race behind D’aguilar, running the 3rd fastest last 600m of the race. 3rd up last prep he was a very narrow 2nd to Chief Altony which is easily good enough. The map isn’t ideal but I think that’s factored into the price at $6.50.

(12) Quintello has bolted in her first two this prep and can continue to progress. She didn’t beat much last prep in bm64 mare’s grade but did it easily.

(1) Global Gift finally showed something last start and if he repeats that effort behind Nikau Spur will be right in this race.

(8) Firstclass Dreamer is consistent and should be thereabouts again.

Tip: (2) Hasseltoff- $6.50 at Ladbrokes

(9) Ayahuasca has the upside and talent to win this. She was very impressive two back, destroying So You Assume who has since won two Saturday races. She took on a Saturday class race last start and the race shape was against, 4L off Mr Brightside and 2.5L off Eagles Crag in a dash home. Should get a more genuine tempo here.

(7) Leale wasn’t far off So You Assume last start and gets in nicely at the weights with 53kg after Richards’ claim.

(5) Under My Spell has won two of her last three on the synthetic, running okay on soft ground in between. A good track should suit.

(2) Mahashakti comes out of a strong race behind Elephant at Caulfield. Getting up in trip will help although the map from 2 with Tahlia Hope on isn’t great.

Tip: (9) Ayahuasca- $4.40 at TopSport

(2) Evening Glory is going well. He drops back to 1200m after two good runs in stronger grade and can break through here.

Going to follow up with (4) Kalashani Lad after he arguably should’ve won last start for us at $31. If he gets out a bit earlier he makes it very interesting with The General and Invincible Jet, who dominated the race on speed. Gets Olly on here and can win.

(10) Narvaez will be better over a bit further but has a bit of class.

(5) Pioneer River next best.

 

Tip: (4) Kalashani Lad- $9.50/3.10 at Bet365

Betting Strategy: 0.5 units E/W Kalashani Lad

(2) He’s The Real Deel was scratched last week and saved for this. He draws wide so might have to work early to find the front with the big weight. The horse is flying but this is harder and the map isn’t ideal.

(10) Flash Flood was beaten 5L first up by He’s The Real Deel and can bridge the margin. The favourite got all the favours there, Flash Flood did start $3 in that race and gets a weight swing here.

(20) Amfissa finds a genuinely run race here which is really going to suit. Back to 1400m probably isn’t ideal but Willo goes on and the map is good.

(3) Brian Epstein has some class first up in Australia.

Tricky race but something small Amfissa.

Tip: (20) Amfissa- $18.00/4.80 at TAB
