Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, November 17th

(7) Designer Dreamer hit the line well on debut from a fair way back. That was a decent maiden and if the track is playing fair he’ll be hard to beat.

(11) Race Against Time can roll forward from out wide and looks ready to win. 3rd up now, senior rider on, he should run well.

Tough maiden and happy to leave it.

(3) French Moon is the best horse in the race and one with plenty of upside, it’s just whether 1400m first up will be too short. I’d expect he doesn’t have the speed to go forward from barrier 7.

(1) Black Penn has only won the one race but went well in a few strong races last prep. There wasn’t much between him and French Moon when they met a couple of times.

(6) Blazerro will be hard to beat, ideally from the front. His first up run was quite good at Pakenham, finishing 2nd to what could be a pretty handy horse in SIxbysixtythree. He handles soft ground and should have a good map advantage.

(4) Spinning has the group class form around her and whilst we’ve seen that form not necessarily be better than maiden/bm64 form for the fillies, she has to be the one to beat. No luck two back at Caulfield, she was solid at Flemington when only beaten 2.3L by Flying Evelyn. Back around a bend and a small field looks ideal.

(2) Lady Of Honour resumed with a tough win on a tricky day at Ballarat. Her debut effort last prep with a distant 2nd to Scorched Earth. She might be able to lead from barrier 2 and be right there.

(3) Lempicka will also go forward. She had conditions to suit on a tough day to make ground on debut at Benalla but did win by 4L and has to be a chance.

I don’t think (5) Kwoi Hoi loved the heavy track at Kyneton last start when starting $2. His win prior in a maiden was dominant and I think Allen can take the lead from barrier 1 here. 

(1) Mr Cancun comes through the best form behind Alcyone at Flemington but has an awful racing pattern and will probably be last from the wide gate and is right up in weight.

(8) Yulong Status can improve again out to 2100m coming off a fair run at Hawkesbury last start. He maps for a soft run.

Fairly keen on (4) Ruru here 3rd up. He was well backed when going from 1350m to 1700m 2nd up at Flemington last start and stuck on well. This is no harder, he probably lands on the leader’s back from barrier 1 and from there he’ll take a stack of beating.

(6) Maid Of Iron was solid in the same race but I think Ruru definitely has more room to improve. She’s on trial at this trip but may be looking for it now.

(2) Gravitelle next best if they can make ground.

(3) Out Of Isolation won well first up at Sale, starting $1.40 after a debut 2nd to Aidensfield. He’ll need a good ride from barrier 1 likely 3 back the fence.

(9) Sweet Sixteen looks a big price. I thought she was good first up when running on from a long way back at Sale. She’s still got plenty of upside and I’m keen to see if Moor can use the barrier because she’s never drawn closer than barrier 6 in a race.

(10) Dubai Nights bolted in on debut at Traralgon but did it well from on speed and looks progressive.

(4) Bold Manner next best but the map is tricky with plenty of speed inside her.

Tip: (9) Sweet Sixteen- $12.00 at Bet365

(7) Love Takes Time should’ve gone close to winning last start at Mornington with no luck. That was a fairly strong class 1 and she’s still got plenty of upside. Small query dropping back to 1400m but Olly gets on and she’s the one to beat.

(8) Swamp Vixen recorded a good win back in trip/class last start and can go on with it here. She didn’t run out 1600m two back but that was at group 2 level and she was 3 wide no cover. 1400m here should be fine and the track should be drying out nicely.

(5) Part Time Lover is very consistent and should run well again. She’s been well backed.

Tip: (7) Love Takes Time- $3.10 at Ladbrokes

Value: (8) Swamp Vixen- $13.00 at Sportsbet

Fascinating race with last start 10 length winner (11) Launch Pad. That was a Mortlake maiden so obviously not a strong race, but his two efforts prior were very good. The near-side blinker went on last start after the jockey said he was green the start prior when 4L off Wilsons Prom which was a good maiden.

(6) Dance Ready is ultra consistent but will need a good ride from the wide barrier for Alana Kelly. Don’t mind her back to the mile.

(2) Brasada next best.

Not a betting race for me- if Launch Pad continues to improve he could just be better than these but he’s short enough coming off a big margin win that can sometimes be deceiving.
