I made (2) Nobel Laurence the horse to follow from the entire meeting after his first up run, and said he’d be “a borderline moral” at his next start. I was hoping we’d see him step up to 1400m but he only gets to 1300m, which might just be a tiny bit short of his best, but I still expect him to give this a real shake. He’s undefeated second up and comes off a super return behind the smart Secret Plan. Good price again.

(4) Special View has won three of her four starts since joining Hayden Ballantyne’s stable. Can win again.

(4) Little Flirt is the horse to beat here, in flying form having bolted in her past two starts. Seems to relish the softer conditions and provided they are able to make ground again, she’s the one they’ll have to hold out late.

(1) Skinnen Tins has had very little luck in recent starts. He was dreadfully held up on the rail last start behind Sentimental Hero, which looks a very solid form line.

(10) Rocky Path was the run of the day against the pattern last start, coming from last to run 3^rd down the wide outside on a day that suited those on speed and hard against the rails.

(2) The Notorious One has two sides to him but if he turned up in the fashion that he did last start, he’ll be very hard to beat again. He stormed home with the blinkers back on to get up late. Undefeated second up.

Tim Geers

A trip to Hong Kong quickly had Tim hooked to the racing caper, maintaining the best place anywhere in the world on a Wednesday night is Happy Valley. He holds a strong interest in the Hong Kong form, along with the metropolitan racing in Sydney and Melbourne. He’s a fan of dry tracks, Zac Purton and takes particular interest in identifying patterns in the form. Tim wears many hats, juggling the roles of form analyst, jockey manager and racehorse owner.
