The small field has been further decimated by scratchings, leaving just four runners for the two-year-old race.
(4) Costume Party goes on top after a decent trial behind Itsatrap, which should be good enough to win this race. I don’t think it’s a superstar but he won’t have to be here.
No point getting involved at $1.50.

(1) Wuhan Warrior has the race experience on his side and returns to the track today after three months off. He bolted in by 6L when allowed to lead and dictate, and then was worn down late by the promising Trix Of The Trade. He should find the rail and the experience might get him over the line.
(4) Rockin’ Rupert won his recent trial by 6L and that was the second-quickest time of the day. He looks full of speed but he might have to settle outside Wuhan Warrior today. He doesn’t have race experience on his side so that might be the telling factor.

The RacingBet Premium Discord group are well-positioned for this race with early bets on Acefire at $2.10 and Hola Marea at $9.00, which are now $2.00 and $4.40.
(5) Acefire ran last in the Belgravia Stakes first up before dropping back to a midweek maiden with a 3kg apprentice. Sat wide throughout and still hit the line well to run 3rd. Now turns up in a similar race six days later with Pike on and looks the horse to beat.
(6) Hola Marea trialled well before debuting in a 3YO Graduation Handicap on debut. The rail was on fire that day so having to come three and four-wide around the turn wasn’t the best place to be. Wasn’t beaten far and now drops back to a midweek maiden, should go very close.
Hard to put a betting strategy here with the group locked in at early prices.

(11) Beauty In Me opened $1.80 and is now out to $2.70, which is a backable price I think. Drew wide and went back on debut behind the promising Thomas Magnum, which is a horse I have a bit of time for. Pike sticks today and although likely to be back in the field again, I think he can win this.
(5) Cold Shizzle is the horse the market has really come for, $2.60 into $2.00. Ran placings behind Ponyo and Ain’t No Other Man last prep before finishing 4th at $1.90 last time we saw him. Returns with two trials under the belt, Parnham goes on and will obviously take some beating.
(4) My Friend Ken and (1) Count Grundy can be included.

(1) Astrape is very well placed here. Just found Sparkling Blue a touch too strong first up in a 3YO No Metro Wins race and now drops back to a Class 1 on a Wednesday. Has never finished worse than 4th in eight starts, including seven placings. Gets in very well with the 3kg claim and Dan Morton’s stable is running red-hot at present.
(3) Crypto Queen trialled very well but ran up to the drift first up. Can improve and does have four 2nds from five starts at the track and distance.
(7) Saturn Black ran 3rd after sitting wide behind the likes of Crypto Queen first up last preparation. Shouldn’t be $18 here with Crypto Queen $3.50.
Value: (7) Saturn Black $18 Sportsbet
Betting Strategy: 1.5 units WIN Astrape, 0.25 units WIN Saturn Black

Pretty keen to follow up on (2) Go Forward here after his first two runs this prep. First up ran 3rd behind Triple Missile on a Saturday, then bolted in by 3.5L over 1100m last start. Draws wide and will get back again, and has to carry 59.5kg, but the stable are deadset airborne and I think he can handle the step up in class.
(3) War Warrior won well enough first up over track and distance first up. Dan Morton’s stable is another that is flying and the horse is sure to be thereabouts again from the decent draw. Happy to save on him.
(4) Airlie Queen will be better suited with the inside draw today compared to the wide draw last time out.
Happy to oppose (10) Sniparoochy who hasn’t done a whole lot wrong, but I think the jury is out.
Tip: (2) Go Forward $3.40 Bet365
Saver: (3) War Warrior $5.00 BoomBet

Good little race this.
(1) Benji’s went around in races like the Raconteur and Belmont Guineas last preparation, and his trial leading into today was very good. Draws well in barrier 3 here and might run a race at double figure odds.
(3) Magic To Exceed resumed with a 3rd placing behind Sparking Blue and Astrape. If Astrape comes out and wins earlier in the meeting it will be a great sign for the form.
(4) Westriver Miracle was one of the runs of the day first up over 1400m here at Belmont. Settled well back in the field and flew home to run 3rd. I’ve always had an opinion of this horse and his trial a couple of months ago was enormous. Big query dropping back to 1300m and stepping up to a Class 1 as a maiden though.
Hard to knock (7) Dais.

(5) Pray Again landed very good bets here last start and draws barrier 1 for a charmed run. Goes close again.
(11) Missalfie was held up the entire straight first up at Northam and the tactics were deservedly queried. No surprise to see a good run at big odds here.
(1) Inflation was a good run first up.

(5) Savvy Dan looks suited here at double figure odds for the in-form Dan Morton and Chris Parnham combination. Has run over 1400m and 1600m this preparation and although he hasn’t done much, he performed similarly last preparation before really coming good when he got up to this distance. It was third up over 2200m that he broke his maiden at Northam, so today looks a good set up for him to run well.
(7) Antique Jewel won a Class 1 over this track and distance last start and now steps up to a No Metro Win race with a plum draw. Goes close again.
(8) Dance Of The South comes out of that same race as Antique Jewel, where she ran 3rd. Draws well and will stay all day.
