We turn our attention to Bendigo today where there is an 8 race card to see out the weekend.

The track is currently rated a good 4 with the rail out 5 metres the entire circuit. There is a small chance of rain predicted but nothing to suggest we may see significant downgrades throughout the day.

Thought (6) Matao Ma looked a good winning chance here dropping right back in grade and stepping up in trip for this 3rd up run. Was a much improved run in the Showdown at Caulfield and 1400m looks ideal now.

(8) Prince Alexander looks the main danger after a very good first up run over 1200m. Was hitting the line strongly and looks well placed stepping up in trip here.

(5) Man Of Heart makes his debut after impressing in the trials, gets Damian Lane on board today and could be the one to challenge the two favourites.

(4) Prince Of Helena should prove very hard to beat here. Can forgive his last start where he was trapped wide and did well to stick on for 4th. Was a good run before that in a much stronger race, and a lack of speed today should suit him.

(1) Reformist will be the threat after a quick freshen up since a solid run over over 1400m. Is a winner of this track and trip and should box seat from the low draw. Looks a race in two.

(3) Zorro’s Dream continues to race well and won a much tougher race than this last start. Just needs to hold his form and deal with the slight drop back in trip and he should be winning this. Forgive his fail on the heavy track two back and otherwise he is always in the finish in his races.

(9) Squamanzer was a good winner over this trip last start and now takes the logical step up in grade. Has shown plenty of promise and can definitely give them something to catch today.

Thought (2) Gorokan Express could improve here 2nd up at a massive price. No luck fresh when trapped wide but his best performances have come with a run under his belt. Great record over this trip and will need some luck again but looks over the odds.

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi.
