The track is currently rated a good 4 with the rail out 7 metres the entire track for the first day of Autumn.

Want to have something on (7) Alpine Falls here who probably should have won on debut after being caught in behind a fallen horse which hampered his run. He managed to pick himself up late in that race to run home well into 3rd and that was a super encouraging effort. At an EW price I’m willing to follow him off the back of that run.

No doubt (8) British Colombia will be mighty hard to beat coming off a good first up run when beaten 1L as favourite at Pakenham. Suited rising in trip from that and will put himself up near the speed and out of trouble.

(3) Kermy will roll towards the lead as he does and has been racing in super form. Gets a good 3kg claim to offset the big weight and I think he can take some running down here. Hasn’t run a bad race this prep and I think stepping back in trip slightly might aid his cause today. With the rail out 7m I’m thinking being up on speed might be advantageous. The horse that beat him last start has since won again.

Think (7) Siren Rock is a good chance and looks a touch over the odds for mine. Was an impressive winner two back and then was beaten less than 2L in a pretty strong bm64. He’s full of fitness now and can run a hole.

(10) Hamslette is dropping in grade for this and gets in pretty well at the weights. Will get a gun run from the low draw and if the gaps come she will be right in this.

(9) Grey Whisper next best who was very impressive last start in weaker grade. Looks on the up.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
