Think today could be the day for (10) Evening Glory and he really deserves a win this prep. Key jockey change today with Kah taking over and I like the fact he has drawn wide here. Will give him plenty of room to track something into the race and he is flying at the moment.

(2) Tokorangi is an interesting runner. Had just the one start last prep for an eye catching 9th which was a much better run than it reads on paper. That was a hot race and she has jumped out well leading into this. Worth following this prep.

(6) Vasmee has been good to us this prep and no doubt they’ll go straight to the lead form the gate and will prove tough to run down. Both wins this prep have come in 64 grade however.

(16) Tindaali was a really nice run first up at a big price. Clearly screaming out for more ground and she will be right in this but will need gaps to come.

(17) Pal D’oro can put himself on speed and 1400m is his best trip. Can give a good sight.

(9) Beltoro is suited back in grade and trip here. Hasn’t had much luck this prep and barrier doesn’t help here but Oli taking over is a big positive.

Still may have missed the winner!

Odds Last Updated: April 23, 2022, 12:49pm (AEDT)

(1) Sirileo Miss was incredibly tough last start to hold on for the win (even though she dead heated). She was pestered the whole way but generally finds a way to win and it was good to see her back to her best. There’s little speed here and she can roll to the top and keep kicking.

If (11) Blistering can leave the gates with them here then has to be a massive chance. Been two huge performances this prep when not doings things right and is sure to peak 3rd up.

(2) Starelle wasn’t far off SM when they met last prep. Think she might need the run here though and 1400m could be a bit sharp.

(4) Stay Gold had an impressive prep last time out and is sure to be right in this.

Think (9) Don Diego is primed for the mile now and has run very well at first two career starts. Dominant on debut then got a bit far back last start but flew home in some very quick closing sectionals. All signs point towards a peak run now and clearly he has upside.

(3) Tobaysure will have to be the one he runs down and is another who looks progressive. Bolted in over a susbesquent winner last start and is yet to miss the placings in four runs.

(13) Eventually looks the overs to me and was a big run last start in Adelaide. She’s still on the up and he stable wouldn’t have brought her here if she wasn’t good enough.

(2) Chartres is ready to win 3rd up and out in trip. Has runs on the board for this.

Pretty keen on the chances of (6) Ain’tnodeeldun who’s been running very well over trip short of his best. Finally gets out to 2000m and this horse has shown he can mix it with the top liners over these sorts of trips. He won a Stakes race 3rd up last prep.

(12) Uniquely is airborne and rock hard fit with strong runs over this trip already this prep. Can’t knock.

(2) Grandslam did well 2nd up all things considering there. Was straight up from 1400m there and stuck on well in the lead. 3rd up now he’s at peak fitness and could just run them off their legs.

This is a belter of a race!

Onto dry ground could be the key for (6) Gimme Par who has very good fresh behind Glistening/General Beau (form franked). Struggled on heavy 2nd up but hard fit now and loves 1100m. Maps for every possible chance.

(4) Scissor Step hard to beat with any luck from barrier 1. They’ve been riding him cold of late and it has worked. Super win fresh and unbeaten 2nd up.

(5) Jigsaw is a chance if he can regain best form. He’s been gelded now and jumpouts leading in have been good. Both wins have come when first up so watch him in the yard,

(1) Midwest will lead and was 5 from 5 since being gelded until run down late last start. 1100?

(2) Arcaded has strong form around him and has been crying out for dry ground.

(3) Ice Pick Nick the up and comer and no knock on his two wins to start career. How good could he be?

(1) Bello Beau essentially had a barrier trial at The Valley last time out and if he saw clear air at any stage he probably wins. Impressive in three wins before that back home and getting onto Caulfield from a wider draw will suit him much better. He looks promising.

(9) Hollerlujah ran good late splits on debut to beat a few of these and up to 1200m looks ideal for him.

(12) Captial Express was a nice debut winner and the form out of that race has been good. He’s sure to keep improving now.

(2) Sir Bailey has had a mixed bag to start his career. Is due a bit of luck and has shown when things go his way that he is above average. Right in this again.

(1) The Astrologist is another dropping out of G1 level and was solid yet again in the William Reid. Will put himself up on speed and is tough as nails.

(10) Typhoon Harmony is a decent EW chance and was a big run fresh. Sure to take a stack out of that and 2nd up record is good. Toughest test to date but looks to be ready to take the next step.

(5) Lombardo finally gets to 1200m and has a great record at this trip. Hard fit and ready to win now.

(7) Gracias Amigo is a touch overs and has been racing very consistently. Flew late to just miss a good horse last start and has had a little freshen up and jumpout in between runs.

(6) Umgawa racing well this prep and wasn’t out of place in the CS Hayes two back. Exploded through a gap last start and loved 1600m there.

(12) Adele Armour back to her best last start with blinkers on. She’s well down in the weights and looks on the up.

(9) Extreme Warrior started favourite in the G1 Coolmore which Home Affairs ended up winning. He’s clearly very good and his first two wins of last prep were dominant. Keen to see him back at the races and no doubt his best will be winning – just a bit wary of the price first up off a setback.

(2) General Beau looks a touch overs in comparison. He beat Extreme Warrior twice when they clashed as 2yos and has since been flying this prep. Ran very well at G1 WFA level in the William Reid, finishing 3rd and loves this track/trip!

(7) Bless Her flies 2nd up and is much more suited up to 1100m. Any rain and she would be a massive chance.

(4) Sword Of Mercy is ready now after two good runs and will enjoy getting back to Caulfield.

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
