Racing at Cranbourne tonight and Trent Crebbin has found two bets to get Melbourne through night one of lockdown.

It may be a lockdown in Melbourne, but racing must go on as Trent Crebbin has found two races to bet into at Cranbourne on Friday night.

He’s particularly keen to back a pair of stablemates in Race 8.

The weather in Melbourne is cool and overcast with the track rated a Soft 7.

(12) Night Of Delight looks great value to me. Her first up record reads well and she took on some stronger races last prep. She was only 2.5L away in 4th in a 3yo bm70 at Caulfield behind Zoushine and finds a very winnable bm64 here, getting in with just 55.5kg. I liked the recent jumpout when making ground out wide under light riding and a soft track is no issue. Quite keen at the $11 each way.

Surprised (1) Hezafox isn’t shorter. He’d been ticking along nicely before finding his right race over 2520m here and destroying his rivals by 4.5L in a dominant staying performance. Goes up just 2kg from that, draws well and I think he’ll be very hard to beat again

The danger could be stablemate (10) Alovelybrownhorse who travelled well over 2060m here last start but Carrie got an easy lead and kicked away late. Stepping up to 2600m will suit and he can give Hezafox a race.

Quite keen to back the locally trained Eurell pair. Maybe even something on the quinella.

Trent Crebbin

Trent’s interest in the thoroughbred started out as a spark with Black Caviar, became a flame with Winx, and has now intensified into a burning obsession with Arcadia Queen. He started out throwing loose change on random trifectas at the pub, but it wasn’t long before he was watching replays and looking at sectionals, weights and markets. Trent specializes in Victorian racing and hopes his first winner as an owner is just around the corner.
