(2) Elite Icon has jumped out very well for his debut, winning both. The raced form isn’t all that flash so he won’t need to be a star to win this. Interested to see where they head given all races are down the straight.

(5) Vinlago was just fair behind the dominant Duchy Of Savoy last start but wasn’t far off the 2nd horse. He might be a wet tracker given his two heavy runs have been much better than his good track runs.

(10) Seydoux is an interesting one. The debut run last prep is easily good enough form to be going close in this, running 2nd to Cecil Street Lad. The two subsequent runs were a bit poor, but he’s jumped out well at Balnarring and D Lane on first up interests me.

Tip: (10) Seydoux- $13.00/3.80 at Sportsbet

(3) Place Of Gold on top. The debut win at Mornington was good in solid overall time. He sat wide without cover, although many winners came wide that day but there were gaps through the field and the 2nd placegetter has since run very well in another strong maiden.

(4) Treporti was just too strong breaking his maiden two back before stepping up in grade and whilst he wasn’t beaten far, he had every chance and they went very slowly there and outside of Decent Raine I don’t think that race is much good.

(2) Daytona Bay won in okay fashion on debut at The Valley, leading all the way. The late splits were strong after going slowly early and he can definitely figure.

(8) For Real Life gets her chance to win at this level after just being run down late by subsequent bm70 winner Danny’s St Darci. She ran down the straight on debut and was well beaten in a very strong maiden by Argentia, but that experience should hold her in good stead. She’s had a freshen but with 56kg she should be hard to run down.

(9) Rapid Ruby was too good at $1.55 at Stony Creek last start. This is much harder but the start prior she was solid behind Antipodes.

(4) Longtimedreaming chased well behind an all the way winner first up at Geelong. There’s been winning form out of that race and she might be ready to show her best here, drawn to swoop.

(2) Yosemite can mix her form but her best form would go close to winning this. She’s 1/1 at 1200m and her only go down the straight she was only beaten 4.1L by September Run at listed level.

Interesting race with (6) Red Hawk the even money favourite first up. He bolted in as a short favourite on debut, leading all the way on the synthetic. The race didn’t rate that well considering how big the margin was and whilst he’s won a jumpout in good fashion I thought he was beatable.

(10) Joselyin just missed in this grade last start, the race won by Sniper Legend who is quite handy. The maiden win prior over a decent horse in Tranquil Bay was good and with 55kg drawn out wide she can do her own thing, whereas Red Hawk might have horses all around him and he does look a fairly big colt.

(2) Gaius is the other capable of threatening. He had no luck first up, barely getting out the entirety and D Lane takes the ride from a wide gate. He can be included at double figures.

Tip: (10) Joselyin- $6.00 at TopSport

Value: (2) Gaius- $18.00/3.90 at TopSport

(2) El Salto is racing well and probably wins last start with a bit better luck, running 2nd to Titans who has won again since. His one run down the straight was a solid 8th, beaten 3.4L in a much harder bm80 behind It’sourtime. This looks a good race for him.

(4) Tax Free Prophet probably would’ve gone on top if he’d drawn out, but barrier 1 is a bit sticky. He ran on well at The Valley last start and I think he’ll suit the straight, it’s just how much room he gets and where the jockeys are steering to.

(3) Our Free Spirit next best, but I think one of the top two win.

Tough race. (9) Hills comes here fresh and looks up to this grade. The first up run behind Winning Weather in SA last prep is solid enough for this and she’s still on the up.

(1) Tony Nicconi hasn’t won in a long time but typically does his best racing fresh. He ran well behind Sartorial Splendor first up last prep which reads well. Not sure about him down the straight.

(3) A Good Yarn is in the mix, as is (2) Cosmic Rhapsody.

Different scenario than last time down the straight for (3) Joltin’ Joe, now drawn barrier 1. He was very good in that run when drawn wide and getting into 2nd behind good straight tracker Pioneer River. He’ll need some luck from barrier 1 but is racing very well.

(9) Wegobam is another racing very well. I don’t mind her back to 1200m and down 3kg in the weights. She should’ve gone close to winning at this T/D two back, beating home (7) Starden Lass who was rock solid.

(8) Queen Of Sass has come back well winning both runs this prep. She had every possible chance leading last start but is hard to knock.

Backing Wegobam, saving Joltin’ Joe.

Trent’s interest in the thoroughbred started out as a spark with Black Caviar, became a flame with Winx, and has now intensified into a burning obsession with Arcadia Queen. He started out throwing loose change on random trifectas at the pub, but it wasn’t long before he was watching replays and looking at sectionals, weights and markets. Trent specializes in Victorian racing and hopes his first winner as an owner is just around the corner.
