(1) Throntari is racing well and was solid on speed, no match for a handy one at Sandown. Not sure where she gets to from the gate.

I don’t think (6) Rioyuki is much good and Throntari had her measure when they met last. She’s some chance but very short in the market.

(3) Zourisky is one with different form. The maiden win was solid and whilst beaten a long way last start she wasn’t far off Honeycreeper which reads fairly well for this. Blinkers on and nose roll off, expect her to be ridden aggressively to take the front.

Tip: (3) Zourisky- $7.00 at TAB

(1) Glassey Miss is racing well and will roll forward from the wide gate. She should be fine on a soft track.

(5) Americain Angel has always promised to go to new heights but hasn’t really delivered. She did win last start up to 1600m and drops in weight here.

(3) Sweet Karolina has been good at two Flemington runs and now comes to The Valley which may be a little trickier.

(4) Star Of Eden will go forward in an open race.

9. Gobstopper (4) J: Lachlan Neindorf (54kg) T: E V Musgrove

Keen on (8) Zoltan to roll the favourite here. He was tight for room but hit the line very well first up in Australia before bumping into Tuvalu last start, who easily looks group class. Now 3rd up, out to 1600m and drawn the inside, expect Meech to use him up and hold the leader’s back. He’ll need a touch of luck from there, but he should be close enough to strike if a gap opens.

(2) Stay Gold is racing well and ticked the 1600m box last start. She drops 6kg from that to take on the boys but the races she’s been winning aren’t great. At the prices I was happy to be against her.

(7) Muswellbrook looks ready to peak on the quick backup with the blinkers on. Wouldn’t surprise me to see some market support for him.

(5) Dark Wanderer comes out of some decent Tasmanian form and has a strong winning strike rate. Tough to get a gauge there.

11. Pitchanun (9) J: Ms Jamie Kah (56kg) T: D T O'brien
4.64.24.65

(5) Dundirtcheap is a rightful favourite for mine. He wasn’t suited by a sit/sprint first up but still came home 7L above average his last 400m behind Gentleman Roy, who is a clear favourite later. 2nd up last prep he jumped to 2000m and sat on speed, so expect him closer in the run here from barrier 4.

(1) Aurora’s Symphony is racing well and drops from listed grade at the Bool. The 2000m is his best trip and he should land outside the leader.

(11) Pitchanun gets out to 2000m for the first time which I expect will suit. She’s coming out of some average mare’s races though and rises in weight to what I think is a stronger contest.

(6) Rosseau loves this T/D and runs well when there’s support for him.

7.57.57.4
9. Serene Moon (3) J: Jarrod Fry (55kg) T: Mitchell Freedman
343434

(4) Pinstriped debuted on a heavy track in September and destroyed his rivals off the back of some smart jumpouts. He won by 5.5L there and has jumped out well again. If it’s wet he’ll be suited, but that’s a guessing game at the moment.

(1) Finance Tycoon has plenty of talent but pulled up with a throat issue at his only run last prep. Hard to gauge where he’s at- the trial win was solid but he was ridden out and he’s not one I want to get involved with.

(7) Danny’s St Darci and (8) Luna Cat have the fitness and are going well. Don’t think either have the talent of a Pinstriped or Finance Tycoon but they can run well.

11. Unfair Dismissal (2) J: Jye Mcneil (57.5kg) T: D M Noonan

Keen to stick with (2) Gentleman Roy in a faster run race. I’ve no doubt that if Mott went 3+ lengths faster in front last start he wins. He went some 7L slower to the 600m last start than the win prior which allowed the others to sprint. He should be able to land outside leader from a wide gate and go at a decent clip here.

(10) Delightful Journey looks to be the leader again after bolting in last start in a class 1. This is much harder but he’ll take a bit of running down.

(8) Agnelli looks ready to peak 3rd up with a nice map. He won 3rd up last prep.

(1) The Regiment loves this T/D and can get into a decent spot with some early luck.

7.57.57.5

Feature of the day. Tricky little race. (10) Marabi is a proper horse. She sat close to a strong tempo last start and still found plenty to hold off the fast finishing Away Game comfortably on the line. Expect she leads here from barrier 3 but this is a big test, up to WFA group 2 after carrying the minimum in listed grade last start. I think she’ll measure up but that may be partly due to race fitness.

(6) Sinawann is a very promising import who quickly found form at start 2 last prep. 1200m will be short of his best but expect he runs well looking ahead to the CF Orr.

(2) Wild Planet ran very well first up last prep behind Eduardo at group 1 level. Not sure where he gets to on the map but he’s a live chance.

(1) Streets Of Avalon won this race last year but would need the track to be dry which he may not get here.

Simply a price issue here- Marabi on top but she’s hovering between too short and her right price. $2.20 would definitely get me involved.

Tip: (10) Marabi- $1.90 at TAB

My only query with (12) Midwest is a potentially wet track but I don’t think it’ll be close to the heavy range at this stage. He’s in flying form this prep and I especially loved his last win at Caulfield when given a great ride by Logan McNeil who sticks here and claims 3kg. He’s a fast horse early so I’m not too worried about the wide draw which should mean he simply tries to run them into the ground again.

(11) Holt has talent and put up consecutive wins to end last prep. 1000m is a small query but the more rain the better for him.

(2) The Big Easy took on some strong races last prep and easily has the talent to win this.

(3) Big Day Out next best.

(2) Soul Obsession can bounce back here. She was too good first up at this T/D before tailing of last start in a much stronger race when the jockey wasn’t happy with her action. I think she might be 1000m only so back in trip suits and she maps well.

(11) Universal Lady is consistent and I don’t mind her at 1000m either. Her last two at the trip have been solid although she doesn’t win many.

(4) Little Stevie should find this a touch easier than a strong race first up but drops back to 1000m which I’m not sure suits.

Trent’s interest in the thoroughbred started out as a spark with Black Caviar, became a flame with Winx, and has now intensified into a burning obsession with Arcadia Queen. He started out throwing loose change on random trifectas at the pub, but it wasn’t long before he was watching replays and looking at sectionals, weights and markets. Trent specializes in Victorian racing and hopes his first winner as an owner is just around the corner.
