(9) Eagles Crag looks the horse to beat here. He’s won three of his six starts and bumped into Doncaster winner Mr Brightside first up last prep. Didn’t seem to handle the heavy ground last time we saw him but he comes here first up for six months and at his best, he’d win this.
(6) Reserve Street is absolutely airborne for his new stable. He was backed at long odds first up in the Echuca Cup and ran a very good race without much luck. He then went to the Warracknabeal Cup and won. How that form lines up here is hard to know but he’s going great guns and looks a healthy price.
Tip: (9) Eagles Crag $2.30 Ladbrokes

Looks a nice race for the resuming (11) Mask Up, who won his only start to date easily in a Donald maiden. Resumes without a public trial in a Saturday race in Adelaide but it’s not too big a stepping stone and the Symon Wilde camp are absolutely flying. Craig Williams booked to ride, expect him to go very close here and potentially head to Hong Kong in the future.
(17) Jean Valjean brings provincial South Australian form to the city but he broke his maiden easily at the end of last prep and resumed with a big effort at Gawler.
(10) Aesthete looks one of the more interesting runners on the day, having his first Australia start for Will Clarken. Might need this and might be looking for further?
(1) Street Life drops heavily in grade for the first time in a long time.

(3) Aitch Two Oh will be popular here. Won her first two starts by a combined 9.2L before bumping into the smart See You In Heaven, who then came out and won again last week.
(2) Winning Revolution comes here on debut for Peter Moody, his only runner of the day. Linda Meech goes on so I’d expect a positive ride and from this stable, a good showing should be expected.
(8) Glowing Gold is another on debut without a public trial, this time for Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. Drawn awkwardly in barrier 8 but can’t underestimate the camp.
Jamie Kah rides her partner Clayton Douglas’ filly Barrabool, another on debut. Drawn well.
Happy to sit this one out.

(4) Designs comes into this off consecutive wins over the 2500m distance, the first at Cranbourne before defeating a small field here at Morphettville last start. The only query I have with her today is the Waterhouse-Bott runner engaged and drawn inside her, so she may not be able to lead at her own leisure today.
(3) Splendiferous is the Waterhouse-Bott runner I refer to, and she comes off a win in the Country Oaks at Sale over 2200m last start. That was a good effort given she was jumping from 1600m to 2200m, so she should be even better off for that win. The main query is the soft 6 track for her.
(11) So Bene has placed in her past five starts. Always there but struggling to get her head in front.
(5) Does It next best and if they overdo it up front, he will be the one coming over the top.

(2) General Beau ran 3rd in the G1 William Reid Stakes two starts ago, and then sat three-wide the trip in the Bel Esprit Stakes last start. Was beaten less than a length there by Extreme Warrior which was a very good effort. I expect that form to hold up at Caulfield today with It’sourtime and from barrier 1 here, General Beau really gets his chance. The 1200m is about as far as he wants to go but he should be right in the finish.
(3) Bacchanalia loves wet ground. His effort to run 4th in the Redelva last start was sound given it was a good 3 track. He’s only been beaten once from five starts on wet ground and that was behind Mazu. Looks a very good chance.
(7) Extremely Lucky was the best thing beat you’ll see first up. Up in grade here but Zahra goes on and he’ll be savaging the line.

Bit of an ugly race.
Interested to see how (2) La Dragontea measures up on Australian debut for Anthony and Sam Freedman and Jamie Kah. She’s an American mare that’s won four of her 16 starts, and all of those have been over 1800m+, so no surprise to see her first up over a mile today.
(10) Comica is flying, with three wins and a 2nd from her past four starts. Should kick through and lead from barrier 2 and if she gets it soft, they’ll have a tough time catching her.
(13) Wild Imagination is a complete blowout at huge odds. Never got a crack at them first up.

Landing on (5) Ironclad a bit by default here. He bounced back to form with first up victory in the Matrice Stakes, taking his record at the track to 4/4. He’s had a little while between runs which is some query but Kah sticks with him and there’s a few queries about some of his main rivals today.
(1) Behemoth returns after failing in the CF Orr Stakes back in February. Prior to that he was beaten as the $1.50 favourite. At his best, he’d win this, but the jury is somewhat out on him.
(2) Savatoxl had excuses first up when pulling up with the thumps. Don’t underestimate him at big odds.

The Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes.
If (1) September Run turns up at her best, I think she’ll win this. She ran 3rd first up in the Newmarket Handicap and then went to The Valley and won the William Reid Stakes. That showed she’s well and truly back on track and I think she finds a fairly moderate field here. Soft ground no problem, Craig Williams sticks with her and draws well in barrier 5. Think she’s the horse to beat.
(2) Bella Nipotina is a live chance here. She pulled up lame first up in the Oakleigh Plate, then didn’t have a lot of luck in The Galaxy, before winning the Sapphire Stakes in Sydney. We know she handles the rain-affected ground and the Sapphire Stakes has proven a reliable form reference for this race in the past.
(14) Heresy is a smokey at double figure odds. Won the PJ Bell two starts ago and then just got too far back from the wide barrier last start.
(5) Brooklyn Hustle once again finds a good race for her but she always needs luck.
(4) Bella Vella and (3) Instant Celebrity fought out the Irwin Stakes but not sure how that form will line up here.

(4) Chosen Blonde has a good first up record, including a 3.8L victory on the Parks track last preparation. His preparation included a couple of good efforts in Melbourne and he resumes today with Campbell Rawiller aboard. Needs a good ride from the carpark draw but can be very competitive at decent odds.
(7) Rushaway Lad is another with a wide draw but does get Damien Oliver booked to ride. Was beaten first up but can bounce back.
(8) Three Tears is versatile and was beaten 0.4L last start. Ran 2nd prior to that and won firs tup. Will be thereabouts with John Allen a positive jockey booking.
(15) I Am Bene has only been seen once, which was a dominant debut win at Gawler. Resumes today and draws the inside. Interesting to see if she can win again in this grade.
(13) Sidearm gets Jamie Kah booked for Will Clarken. Has ability this horse but has only won one race in 16 starts.
