Newcastle Racing Tips: Saturday, November 13th

A lot of unknowns here with many of these 2yo’s making their debuts. 

I’ll put (9) Uncorked on top who looked smart at a recent trial, sitting off the speed and putting them away well. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them press further forward today and with Tim Clark on board you’d expect him to give her every chance in front. 

(4) Vancouver’s Crown was very green at her only trial, doing plenty wrong but still managed to win quite easily. If she can put it all together for race day she will be in the finish. 

(3) Lord Of The Hunter was rolled as a short priced fav on debut following an impressive 4L trial win. He’ll be much better for that run and can hit back today. 

(8) Russian Conquest next best.

(10) Sacred Command looks the winner here for mine. He’s been extremely unlucky in both his last two starts and arguably should have won them. He draws towards the outside today which might help Berry keep him out of trouble. Drops a stack in weight on previous two runs and should be going very close. 

Can’t knock the form of (2) Ma And Pa who will be chasing a fifth straight win here. Was very good last start in this grade, leading all the way and giving a good kick under pressure. Rises 3kg on that performance however. 

(3) Prince Of Arragon can be the improver 2nd up out to the mile now. Ran on well fresh over a trip short of his best and will be much better for that run.

Hoping (9) Street Power can handle the stretch out to 1300m here and if so, looks a good winning chance. Was only narrowly beaten in a similar race to this last start where he didn’t have many favours in the run. Drawn perfectly today he can go one better. 

(11) Bean Hot started favourite in one of these Highways last start – He’s now $20 here? It obviously wasn’t a great run but could easily make excuses for him after copping plenty of bumps in traffic. Worth forgiving there on the back of his SP and just solely on a price basis I’ll be having something on. 

(2) Ceasefire lined up in the Kosci two back and was very good last start. Gets a good 3kg claim for Gibbons and will be right in this yet again. 

(5) Casino Kid is extremely honest and should be better for the two runs back this prep. Been flying home in those two runs and he’ll enjoy getting out to 1300m. 

Another very open highway and I’ll be playing a few here for a result.

(13) Harvey’s Way looks an exciting horse for connection. He’s won two from three and has still done plenty wrong in those runs to date. Was a very good run last start and will have to rise in grade once again but he gets in nice and light and loves racing here at Newy. 

(4) Tampering brings the strongest exposed form with a 5th in the Four Pillars. Carried 60kg there so gets a little weight relief today and should be hard to run down from the front. 

Not sure what to make of (8) Cream Rises this prep. His last start was a bit better than earlier runs and he might have just turned the corner? His best is good enough.

(1) Love Tap is my best bet on the card today and he looks very hard to beat on recent form. Comes through the Golden Eagle where he more than held his won, finish 4L off I’m Thunderstruck. Nash should go forward from the low draw and like he always does, he’ll get everything out of him. Won the Gloaming over this trip and if he can bring his best form, he’ll be winning this. 

(3) Mightybeel is honest and rarely puts in a poor one. Was beaten as a short favourite in a weaker race leading into this but will be given every opportunity by Jmac. Can’t knock but looks short enough. 

(2) Milk Man has all of a sudden found some form and has won two on the trot. This looks tougher but is airborne.

(6) Kiss The Bride has been running very well all prep, and finished a good 3rd behind Think It Over last start. She looks ready to step out to this trip now and will be full of fitness and give you a good sight just off the speed. 

Admit (1) Shared Ambition looks pretty hard to beat and gets a massive 3kg claim for Dylan Gibbons. This is the easiest race he’s contested this prep, finishing behind the likes of Think It Over and Zaaki. Should be forward in the run and might be too tough to catch. 

(4) King’s Charisma looks ready to peak 4th up and can be an improver out in trip.

Tip: (6) Kiss The Bride - $5.00 at Sportsbet

(1) Dufresne has been flying this prep and comes into this with a good 2nd in the Four Pillars. Ran well in the Bondi Stakes before that and this is probably the easiest race he’s contested for a while. Rises in weight obviously but he’s super honest up on speed and will give a good sight. 

(8) Loch Eagle is still a maiden but I think he’s good enough to win this. Keen to see him up in trip and I think he’s building towards a peak run. The stable clearly have an opinion of him throwing him in the deep end here. 

(7) Kokoro looked extremely good winning last start at Goulburn. Looks to have a heap of upside and stable are flying. 

(10) Festival Dancer is flying and goes in search of a fourth straight win. Can’t knock but has been up for a while now.

Tip: (1) Dufresne - $7.00 at TopSport

Value: (8) Loch Eagle - $12 at TAB

The big one. The $1m The Hunter takes place here and it’s a high quality field of sprinters who go in search of the big prize. 

(1) Lost And Running is the best horse here and his 4th in the Everest tells you that. He then came out and finished 2nd to Eduardo who is the best sprinter outside Nature Strip in the country. Horse is clearly airborne and this has been a target race for a while. Barrier is wide but he’s speedy enough to cross and the drying track only enhances his chance. Looks very hard to beat. 

(2) Top Ranked is the massive query runner in the field. He brings elite UK formlines here for Neesham and has jumped out nicely since arriving in Aus. If he’s wound up enough to compete over 1300m then he will be a big challenger. 

(6) Signore Fox looks an enormous price for mine. We could be racing on a good 4 by this stage of the day and he’s been very good this prep. He’s been compeittive in Group 1’s and I think he looks ready to peak now 3rd up. Any sort of luck from the barrier will see him run a hole I think.

(11) Prime Candidate looks the best roughie for mine. Blinkers go on and he’s been a model of consistency this prep. Will be up near the speed and could get away with this with the lightweight. 

(3) Gem Song flies fresh and maps for a nice run midfield on the rail. If the gaps come he can be in the finish.

It’s her toughest test to date but (11) Norwegian Bliss looks an exciting horse for connections. She’s handled all before her so far, winning three on the bounce and I think she looks a good chance to make it four. Will put herself up on speed with the lightweight and I think she will enjoy rising to 1400m. 

(8) Pippali can run well here and is rarely far away. Will be the one charging through late if they overdo it up front. 

(10) Zou De Moon goes in search of a hattrick of wins and will also be up on speed. Looks another horse on the up.

This looks a match race for Godolphin with (6) Gravina lining up as favourite ahead of (12) Katalin. 

I’ll have something on (12) Katalin here who was an impressive winner fresh. She ran the fastest L200 of the entire meeting there and should only improve off the back of that. Has been a winner 2nd up in the past and while also has a win here at Newy. Maps perfectly for Berry and looks a massive chance.

(6) Gravina has been very costly to punters and has been going around in the ‘get out’ stakes each week. Once again lines up here in the last at a short price and on paper, he should be winning. Just doesn’t help himself with his pattern and I think he looks short enough. 

(5) Never Talk has been going around in tougher races than this. Needs to improve but on best form she can get away with this.
