We look to round out the working week with racing at Nowra today where there eight races to get stuck into.

The track is currently rated a heavy 8, however the promise of blue skies suggests we should see an upgrade or two and be racing on a drying surface. The rail is in the true position.

Good clash between some smart debutants here but I’m siding with (9) Benaud here who has looked pretty good at the trials and is a well-related colt. He’s a half to G1 winner Tofane and his trials on wet ground suggest he shouldn’t have any issue with conditions today. If the gaps come in at the right time, he should be strongest late.

(3) The Rampant has also been trialling well and has caught they eye coming into today. The stable usually have a strong record when they bring one to the provincials and this could be setup for an easy kill on debut.

(8) Diamond Hands was a horse I was keen to follow after the debut win. He defied the market winning there in good fashion and was quickly put away by the stable. He looks to have come back in good order and from gate 1 looks hard to beat in a pretty weak race.

I can entertain (9) Miss Barty’s Party as the value runner in the race. She’s only a lightly raced 4yo with one win and a third and looks to have a heap of upside still. Will get back from the gate and hopefully she’ll be winding up late. One career win came this T/D.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
