Randwick-Kensington Racing Tips: Saturday, January 1st

(7) Secret Revolution tackled the Kirkham on debut where he had a few excuses and finished down the track. Started single figures there and clearly has ability. Looked very good winning a recent trial.

(2) Fireburn didn’t have the best of luck on debut but then atoned with a very strong win when getting out to 1200m last start. Beat a handy field there, looks progressive enough and will get way down in the weights here with 54kg.

Was with (1) California Deeply on debut and he backed up the nice trial with a good win on debut. Beat home Fireburn there who won next start. Still has plenty to learn but looks very progressive and he might be able to get away with this from the front.

(10) Pantonario finished 4th to Coolangatta on debut in the Gimcrack after knocking up in the straight. Trials leading into this have been sharp and looks to get an easy lead here from gate 1.

Think (3) Banju can turn the tables on King’s Trust here from a better draw and now third up and hard fit. Has been getting better with each run and now looks suited with the two runs under the belt. Was only just beaten in a similar race to this last time out.

(6) Still In Fashion looks a good winning hope getting down to 51kg and is now 4th up following a few good runs this prep. Won at only start last prep when 4th up and looks to get a nice run from barrier 9. Still looks to have some upside and can hit back.

(8) Majority is flying this time in, winning last two very well. Rises in grade again here but can’t knock the form.

(13) Can Do It looks the best roughie in the race and should enjoy getting out to 1400m.

(1) Herman Hesse is knocking on the door for another win and was only run down late last start by a horse who is on the up. 2nd up from a little freshen up trial should be ready to fire. 

(5) Black Queen has been up for a while but has hardly put a foot wrong this whole prep. Gets in nice and light here and maps for a nice run in race. Will be in the finish yet again. 

(7) Comme Bella Fille was having first start over 2400m last start when she just grinded to the line. Will take a big bit of improvement out of that and will enjoy the drop in the weights.

(7) Key Largo looks screaming out to win a race this prep following two big runs for 2nd. Will enjoy getting back onto a dry track and he’s undefeated from two third up runs. Looks a massive chance in a very open race, 

(11) Finally Realise was going very well at the end of last prep and has been looking the part at a couple of recent trials. Looks ready to run well fresh and can give this a shake. 

(2) Osamu is a tough horse to follow but was good fresh and should come on from that run. 

(1) Henschel tackled a much stronger race first up and stuck on okay considering he was trapped wide there. Good 2nd up record and will run well here again.

(2) Salina Dreaming returns to the races today and brings a very impressive first up record. Has had a couple of quiet trials leading into this and I’m hoping they can cross from the gate and race up near the speed. 

(7) Forzanini looks the big threat. Has won two on the trot this prep and looks ready to take the next step again here. 

(1) Irish Angel would probably be on top here if it was wet conditions but you can’t count her out considering how well she’s going. Should be ready to peak now 3rd up from a break.

(4) Kirwan’s Lane is on the quick backup following a strong win up the rail last Sunday. I’ve got him on top through the sheer fact he brings good winning form to a race like this and many of these generally don’t win out of turn.

 (5) Bottega did a bit wrong in the first up run when he was well-backed to start close to favourite against a few of these. Should improve off that and he generally goes better with a run under the belt.

(1) Purple Sector returned to racing in top order, running well above the market quote to finish 2nd to Oscar Zulu (and beat many of these home). Looks to have come back well and will enjoy getting out to this trip.

(7) Bigboyroy is becoming a real tease and I’m finally jumping off today. He will probably lead these up here and will be better getting out in trip. Was a bit flat fresh however.

(4) Dragonstone was beaten by an in-form horse last start and beat third comfortably. Gets right down to 53kg now and should be rock hard fit now third up from a spell. Keen to see him race on dry ground as well.

(5) Leo was well backed when resuming and ran okay. Started favourite there in a similar race to this and should take fitness improvement out of it. Loves the 1000m.

(1) Van Giz can improve off a very good first up run, finishing 2nd to The Bopper. That was an encouraging return and ran the fastest L600m of the meeting. Can go on with it.

(1) Toomuchtobear was extremely impressive first up off a break when storming down the outside to beat a handy field at Randwick two weeks ago. He looks a progressive type and will carry 57kg following the claim for Reece Jones. Looks ready to take the next step this prep.

(6) Speed Legend was well backed last start and only just missed an in-form horse. Should take improvement from that and will be prominent in the run from gate 1.

(3) For Valour has now won three of last four and will once again give himself every chance from the front.

Tip: (1) Toomuchtobear - $3.10 at TAB

This is a hot bm72 with a number of in-form progressive 3yos going head to head.

(4) I Am Lethal looks an exciting 3yo for the O’Shea yard and has seemed to just get better with racing. Was very tough to hold off Rubamos last start who has since come out and won and has had a quiet trial leading into this. Looks ready to take the next step.

(8) Kanazawa rises sharply from maiden grade but looked good winning there and clearly the stable have an opinion. Big watch.

(7) Kir Royale is now two wins from three starts and continues to impress rising through the grades.

(2) Snitzonfire will once again lead them up and he’ll be rock hard fit now. Will be the one they all have to run down.

Tip: (4) I Am Lethal - $6.50 at Ladbrokes

(4) Exotic Ruby looks one of the better value chances on the card today and is a Kenso track specialist. Maps for a nice run from barrier 1 and gets in nice and light following a good run in a stronger race than this last start. 

(5) Queen Bellissimo is flying this prep and was another tough win from the front last start. After three runs at 1200m I don’t mind them rising the extra 100m now. 

(3) Rubamos was only just beaten by a smart one two back before running away to win strongly at next start over this trip. Is fit and in form so should thereabouts yet again.
