I’m really keen to get stuck in early here.

(9) Skedaddle is my best bet of the day. She had no luck first up and her win last start was super; she never looked like winning until exploding through along the rail in the final 100m. Les Bridge post-race noted that she was a mare destined to win a good race and I think she’s up to making the step up in grade here. On her home deck, looks clearly the horse to beat. Looking to take Betfair SP.

(6) Super Effort went into the horses to follow file after his run last start. First up he bolted in at Newcastle, and he then came from last on the rails to finish hard for 2^nd last time out. He didn’t get much luck in that race and should have finished closer. Think he rates as the danger to Skedaddle.

(2) Mr Hussil was very impressive winning first up from a 93-week spell in a similar race to this last start. You’d think he would improve off that so that would make him the horse to beat again.

(8) Commando Hunt is the stablemate of Mr Hussil and Cam Crockett does very well in these races. Is first up with four trials under the belt so should be forward enough to be competitive.

(9) Knight Driver went close in a similar race last start and was in winning form prior to that.

(11) Sunrise Ruby was impressive winning last start carrying top weight. She now has three wins from four races and has to be thought of highly.

(13) Danzadel ran 2^nd to Mr Hussil last time out.

(2) La Chevalee broke through for a deserved win last time out and can back that up with any sort of decent ride here. The only concern is the jockey switch from JMac to Tom Sherry.

(3) So Wicked should appreciate getting back onto firmer footing. Gets a gun run from the inside gate and JMac goes on so she should be very competitive.

Not really a race I’m too interested in getting involved in.

(5) Mr Gee has hit form with the application of blinkers and he can win again here. He bolted in last start and the return to firm ground won’t bother him here. Tommy Berry booked, looks hard to beat again.

(1) Criminal Code had excuses two back but bounced back to win well last start. The worry today is the apprentice booked from the wide gate.

(3) Badoosh gets a good draw and Bowman. Comes off a good run last start and he’s another who won’t be bothered by the firmer ground.

(8) Bethencourt and (9) Savvy Legend next best.

Pretty keen on (2) Catapult here with Bowman going aboard. He was good first up without a lot of luck and he just got too far back last start. Back onto firm ground should really suit, he’s run 2^nd in all three starts when second up from a spell and should be very competitive in a race like this.

(6) Zorocat bolted in last start and has a good record on firm ground so should be competitive again from barrier 1.

(1) Ashman can improve second up from a spell.

(2) Canasta lands on top almost by default here. He’s run well all prep without winning but the return to a good track today could make the difference. Four of his five career wins have been on good ground and he has a good record at the distance so he’ll be tough to beat.

(1) Mr Tipla comes to Sydney from Melbourne and this stable can produce a horse to win when they bring them across the border. Respect at double figure odds.

(5) Monegal was enormous first up but his first up record is far superior than his second up record which is the concern.

(10) Think Free is racing well but the firmer ground is the concern.

(6) Le Gai Soleil was badly beaten last start, which is uncharacteristic of her. She gets blinkers for the first time, an inside draw and a return to good ground. There’s already been market support for her so expect her to improve significantly.

(9) Madam Legend won well first up and can make the step up in grade on her home deck. The race she won has stood up as a form reference with two subsequent winners and she tends to handle all surfaces.

(8) Blondeau has two versions and the market could well tell the story before the race as to which one turns up.

(3) Nikohli Beagle won well first up at Warwick Farm on good ground before failing in two subsequent starts on heavy ground. Back onto firmer footing today can see him return to form.

(8) Miss Dior ran in the same race as Nikohli Beagle last start, where she ran 2^nd behind Our Bellagio Miss. Looks to get a good draw once again and if she improves at all from the first up outing, she should be in the finish again.

Anything could win this but I’ll be against (6) Our Bellagio Miss who has been very good to us in winning her past two starts. She’s a deadest wet tracker though, and she won’t get that here so I’ll be taking her on and expecting her to drift.

(1) Spaceboy does what Spaceboy does first up in Melbourne, running admirably but ultimately coming up short. He’s placed in five of his six starts when second up from a spell, but is yet to win one, so he’ll be right in the finish once again. Might just find one too good again.

(2) I Am Power looks better suited on firm ground than wet ground so can improve on his last effort.

(5) Best Stone trialled well leading into her first up run today and the booking of James McDonald really catches the eye. He’s only had four rides for John Thompson in the past 12 months, resulting in one win and one second. She’s yet to win first up but she finds a race she can go very close in here at each way odds.

(4) Perigord next best.

Anyone’s guess who takes out the last here.

(6) Night Of Power ran very well first up and has had six weeks off leading into this. Back onto firm ground is a plus and he has a good second up record. The query is whether he’s had an issue since that first up run. Market likely to tell the story.

(11) Escaped was well backed on stable debut last start but had no luck at all in the run. Drawn well in barrier 4 here so don’t be surprised to see him run a good race.

(1) Kordia gets JMac on which is a good sign she can return to her best form.

(3) Cuban Royale won well last start, while the three Snowden runners all have claims.
