Randwick Racing Tips: Tuesday, November 2nd

(7) Headliner lines up in maiden grade for the first time in her career and I think she looks pretty hard to beat. She’s 3rd up now following two starts in much stronger races than this, where she was far from disgraced and I think Collett can have her in the perfect stalking spot in the run and be too strong late. 

(3) Loch Eagle was beaten as an odds-on fav on debut and just grinded in the straight before hitting the line pretty well. He’s sure to be a big improver now up to 1400m. 

(8) I Am Lethal was good first up over 1200m and is another who will improve now 2nd up out to this trip.

I think there’s a bit of value to be had here and while I concede the favourite looks very good, Im keen to have a few bets around him.

(7) Mount Smart has had one trial since coming to Aus from NZ and he won that well in wet conditions. He went stright to the lead and never came out of first gear. Bowman jumps on today from the low draw and with the rail out significantly and dry, fast conditions predicted, it may pay to up on speed. 

I could be way off the mark here but (9) Security Advisor looks a massive price at $150/$41. His last two trials have flown a touch under the radar I think as he hit the line pretty well in both under his own steam. Obviously he’s going to have to run well here to feature in this field but at the price I just think he could be a sneaky place chance. 

(2) Avoidance has looked the part at the trials leading  into his debut here today. Has won 3 of them in very good fashion and I’d expect he leads them up here and might take some catching. 

(10) Arranmore ran 2nd to a very handy one in Espiona last start and she beat 3rd comfortably. Race experience will be a big positive.

Well pending that she runs here, (5) Espiona will just be winning this. No spoils about the price especially after some key scratchings but she was well fancied on debut and did it easily. That was a classy win and she has much better races in store for her. She’s also accepted at Flemington on Thursday (where she looks a cracking bet) so keep an eye on that. 

(6) Hoover Lucy the only other possible chance here but I don’t think she’s up to the level of the favourite.

Tip: (5) Espiona - $1.35 at Ladbrokes

Not sure how any of them can beat (6) Roots here going off what she did in the Regal Allen last start. Absolutely flew home when she finally saw clear air and arguably should have beaten Fangirl there. We saw what she came out and did on Saturday so the form has stacked up. Looks extremely hard to beat. 

(4) Gracilistyla bolted in last start to break his maiden in good style. He looks a horse with a bit of upside and if the breaks come he can be in the finish. 

(2) Lease next best in what looks a pretty straight forward top three.

I like (3) Van Gogh here who drops nicely in weight and wears the blinkers for the first time. He’ll roll forward and lead and I think the track might suit his racing pattern today. He’s been in good form over shorter trips and out to 2000m now will suit him. 

(1) French Bonnet did it the tough way last start in stronger grade. He was trapped wide the trip and was never a winning chance. Won well the start before that and drops back to a much easier race here. 

(5) Elusive Jewel is airborne and and she profiles perfectly for a 2000m horse. Think she’ll love this trip and expect her to be launching late.

Tip: (3) Van Gogh - $5.00 at TAB

(7) Six Again looks a promising horse and she looks pretty bulletproof. The first up win was dominant on dry ground before rising sharply in grade and winning on a very heavy track. That last start win was super impressive and not many horses can jump a few grades and win like that. Maps nicely today with Collett to have options from the draw and I think she will be too strong again. 

(10) Satin Ribbons is another lightly raced horse with two wins from three career starts. She did enough first up to win in weaker company and looks the main danger to Six Again. 

(1) Amiche looks an interesting runner, having first start for new stable since coming down from QLD. She looked like she could be anything early on for David Vandyke and I think she can measure up down here. Won’t be losing on her.

Saver: (1) Amiche - $7.50 at Ladbrokes

(10) The Face should be shorter than the current $7+ on offer. The key to him is finding the front and I’d say from the wide draw they’ll be doing everything they can to get there. Form around some quality horses and the recent trial was good. Likes racing at Randwick and he will take some catching. 

(3) Southern Lad is as honest as they come and he goes very well first up. He’ll be the one out the back ready to launch if they overdo up front. 

I think (4) Lina’s Hero is another who will appreciate the hot speed and she broke through for a couple of good wins last prep. The sharp 1000m is some query but she should be fresh enough to sprint with them. 

(12) Spaceboy next best.

Nearly impossible this race. 

(20) Good Omens goes on top for me with very little confidence. He was a pass mark first up and should appreciate getting onto the track proper today. Barrier 1 you’d expect Collett to have him handy and gets in nice and light. 

(19) The Denzel pulled up lame last start after failing as a short priced favourite in this grade. If you liked him last start and can be forgiving on that your getting $6.50ish today!

(6) Canyanero will enjoy getting out to the mile and he’s been going very well this prep. His form is good enough to be winning this. 

(17) Atlantic King won this exact race last year and hasn’t won since. Needs to improve on current form but his best is good enough.

Tip: (20) Good Omens - $9.00 at TAB

(13) Too Much Caviar can lead them up here in the last and win. He looks to get a pretty easy time of it up front and his form last prep reads very well. The recent trials were good where he didn’t look out of place behind Eduardo and I just think this race sets up so well for him. 

(4) Vienna Rain looks primed to run well and has race fitness on his side. He can probably track the fav in the run and give him a scare. 

(9) Mollycoddle will improve here 2nd up back in grade. Getting onto a dry track won’t hurt her chances either.
