Racing heads to Sale today for our Tuesday meeting in Victoria where there is an eight-race card to dive into.

The track is currently rated a Soft 5 and the rail is out 6 metres. Plenty of sunshine is forecast so we could see an upgrade throughout the day.

(5) Takatoka gets out to his most favoured trip today and while still being a maiden, has put in a few good performances across his career to date. Will roll forward from the wide gate and be the one they all have to get past. Hoping today can be his day.

(9) Unvanquishable is nearing peak fitness after a huge 2nd up run where he just kept giving after a wide run. Will be ready to fire here out to the mile and looks the main danger to our top selection.

(8) Peskijen looked like she needed the run first up and now gets out in trip here. She was well backed that day and her first prep showed she has plenty of ability. Think she will strip fitter from that and will enjoy every favour from the low draw today.

(3) Thomas Hawk looks the danger for mine. Won his maiden over this trip two back before bumping into the smart Beau Rossa, who went on to run 2nd in a strong Saturday race recently. Steps back up to 1400m here and is a consistent performer.

(5) Mr Roger will roll forward as he normally does and take some running down. Started favourite in arguably a stronger race than this last start and will be as fit as any horse in this race 4th up now.

(9) Diamonds is a good winning chance and comes into this off the back of a good first up performance. She raced keen throughout and took a while to get her mind on the job but once she did, she hit the line strongly. That was her debut for the new stable and has only missed the placings twice in her 7 race career. The last start 3rd behind Okay To Pay is good form for this.

(7) Audacious Heart showed plenty of promise in her debut prep with a string of placings and a good maiden win. Was doing best work late last start at Cranbourne and probably found the 1000m a touch sharp. The 1200m looks ideal today and will only need to take natural improvement to be very hard to beat here.

(11) Suretoshine looks a good value chance and has put in some good performances in stronger races than she faces here today. First run for the new stable here and generally performs well when fresh.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
