(2) Bellinger looks hardest to beat in the opener but is more than short enough at $1.85. He gets the winkers on after looking a bit lost when hitting the front at Pakenham.

(8) And She Was will appreciate the extra trip after running well over 1200m first up Some of her Spring form over this distance range is definitely good enough for this, including a 3rd to Oceanography and Salto Angel.

(7) Our Ginger Ninja was unlucky last start in a fairly handy maiden and should appreciate the 1500m.

(1) Buble Boy was awful last start but the prior form was solid and the booking of Kah is interesting.

Tip: (2) Bellinger- $2.05 at Bet365

The form of (8) Tempest Charm certainly leaps off the page, with runs behind Sneaky Five, Dosh and Arcaded. I think that might be a touch overrated because she’s been well beaten and just plugging away late.

(1) Feudal Empire actually jumped out against Tempest Charm a while ago but improved nicely to win a Cranbourne jumpout recently. He gets Kah on from barrier one and I think he could land in the box seat and run a race on debut.

(5) Starry Legend has jumped out well, including a nice effort behind Dosh in one of them.

(2) Grinzinger Prince was beaten by Tempest Charm at The Valley but didn’t have much luck and isn’t hopeless.

Betting Strategy: 1 unit WIN Feudal Empire

Pretty keen on (3) White Hibiscus here. She was dominant on the Lakeside over 1600m two back and ended up starting a prohibitive $1.55 at Flemington where she paraded awfully and ran up to it, beaten 5L by a runaway winner. She did a bit of work there and wasn’t far off the 2nd horse. She’s trialled very nicely since and a repeat of her run two back should see her very hard to beat here. No surprise to see her backed early.

(2) Don’ttelltheboss is racing well but her racing pattern makes her hard to back. She’ll get back again and run on- perhaps the extra trip will help but I’d rather be with the versatile favourite.

(5) Ruby Street won nicely last start off the back of consistent form and she’ll run well again.

Tip: (3) White Hibiscus- $2.20 at Bet365

Betting Strategy: 3 units WIN White Hibiscus

Tough 2400m contest. (1) Aurora’s Symphony has won two straight over 2000m and steps up in trip. His only start at the trip was a failure but that could have been the end of his prep.

(5) Paris Pike stepped up to 2200m last start and bolted in a maiden by 8L. The start prior he chased hard behind an all the way winner, who has since been beaten 10L in the Tasmanian Derby. That’s obviously a much stronger race than this but he can continue to progress up in trip.

(6) Rising Archie wasn’t far off Aurora’s Symphony last start and gets a weight swing in his favour. He draws nicely and I think he’ll appreciate the extra trip.

(10) Fintona Queen is coming off a win at the same T/D as Paris Pike on the same day. Paris Pike’s maiden win was in faster overall time, but Fintona Queen did run a faster last 600m.

Tip: (5) Paris Pike- $6.50 at Bet365

Handy little race. (3) Legend Of Zorro is ready to win. He went back from a wide gate last start but ran on well from last behind the very promising La Vina. 4th up last prep he won his maiden by 3.5L up to this distance range. As long as they aren’t completely negative from barrier 7 I think he’s a great chance.

(12) Tycoon Bucks finally broke through last start for a deserved win, smashing a handy horse in The Stager by 3.5L. The blinkers certainly did the trick and it wouldn’t surprise if she progressed further with Olly taking the ride.

(2) Gentleman Roy could be the value. He won well at Pakenham last start, beating a subsequent winner, and did start odds on against The Stager two back, struggling to finish off a slow tempo and pulling up with a throat issue. Barrier 5 with D Lane looks perfect for him to control the race again.

(1) D’jumbuck got the maiden out of the way last start and keeps J Kah.

Value: (2) Gentleman Roy- $7.00 at Sportsbet

(10) Kanzai has been crying out for the extra trip here, and the step up to 1800m will suit. I liked the run last start behind Irish Butterfly, picking up again late to run the race fastest last 200m. She’s got race fitness on her side 3rd up.

(4) Sign Seal Deliver brings the best form, it’s just whether he’s fit enough first up at 1800m. The 2.5L 2nd to Persan would make him exceptionally hard to beat here, and we did see stablemate Khoekhoe very strongly backed off a similar set up, despite not winning.

(5) Harmony Nation won nicely first up over 1620m and still has plenty of upside at just his 3rd race start.

(3) Green Ivy is racing well and should get every chance again but may have bumped into a few handy ones here.

Tip: (10) Kanzai- $4.60 at Bet365

Betting Strategy: 1 unit WIN Kanzai

Fairly average race for a Wednesday. (1) Harlem Blues has to be the horse to beat off exposed form. Both wins have come on synthetic but the form around him reads well. He wasn’t far off Alleboom at Flemington, and the 0.4L 4th to Riding The Wave reads very well. The jumpouts have been just average but he does get J Kah on first up.

(4) Dyanmic Duo ran on well first up but that is his pattern. He’ll need luck from barrier 3 but if he gets the gaps at the right times he’ll be hitting the line hard.

(13) Madam Bolli is still a maiden but likely leads with 51.5kg after the claim. The 2.6L 4th to Lindhout and Better Kick when starting $5 is good enough for this race, and she’s jumped out well. With a good ride she might just be able to pinch this, because most of the field are bm58 horses and that’s rarely better than metro maiden form.

(6) Beaverbrook wasn’t far off a handy one at Flemington last start and did win 2nd up last prep. He can be included at double figure odds from the good draw.

Tip: (13) Madam Bolli- $8.00 at TAB

Value: (6) Beaverbrook- $13.00 at Bet365

Good race. (5) Stretto has jumped out well for the first up run and his 3yo form last prep would make him hard to beat here. His two 1600m Flemington runs were very good and although the 1300m is a touch short, it’s a good starting point.

(8) Mr Raikkonen got back to last at The Valley first up and was badly held up from the 400-100m. Once he got clear air, his last 50m and work through the line was very good. His final 200m was the race fastest despite barely getting momentum. He’ll get over further but that was the run of a coming winner and he’s got huge scope to improve.

(11) Hot In Paris just missed Need New Friends on the Lakeside last start when getting the gaps late. Her win prior was solid in bm58 grade over a handy horse in Kiata, but I’m not sure on the strength of that form.

(2) Confidant next best coming off a 3rd to Faretti after being ridden quiet. From the barrier I’d expect he gets back again.

Tip: (8) Mr Raikkonen $5.00 Bet365

Betting Strategy: 1.5 units WIN Mr Raikkonen

Trent’s interest in the thoroughbred started out as a spark with Black Caviar, became a flame with Winx, and has now intensified into a burning obsession with Arcadia Queen. He started out throwing loose change on random trifectas at the pub, but it wasn’t long before he was watching replays and looking at sectionals, weights and markets. Trent specializes in Victorian racing and hopes his first winner as an owner is just around the corner.
