We head to Swan Hill for an intriguing 8 race card to round out the working week.

The track is currently rated a good 4 with the rail in the true position for the entire circuit.

(1) Rock Tycoon looks a good winning chance here following Zoe Loyd’s 4kg claim. He has been running well in much stronger races and has been weighted accordingly for this assignment today. Always runs well here and has been building to a nice performance. Finds a very winnable race.

(3) Mr Moppett looks the main threat after finishing the end of last prep running in some strong Saturday grade races. Always runs well fresh and should enjoy a nice run from gate 2.

(8) Norbu will take a lot of improvement from her strong first up performance where she was only beaten less than a length. Should race up on speed and give them something to chase. Just not sure about the step up in grade and drop back in trip.

Pretty keen on (7) Classy Pins here in a very open race but she looks the horse with plenty of improvement on offer. Was very well beaten fresh but I think you can be forgiving on the wet track. Finds her favoured dry track today and her last 2nd up run resulted in a good win. She’ll only come on from last start and looks to have the upside compared to the majority of her well-raced rivals.

(1) Okotoks rarely runs a bad race and his recent form has been strong for a race like this today. Caught wide last start so best to be forgiving and will be in the finish once again.

(1) Cranc looks very hard to beat here stepping up to 1300m after running on strongly last start. That was his first defeat in 3 career starts and could easily be undefeated. Will only be suited out in trip and John Allen jumps back aboard who rode the horse in his first two career wins.

Can’t leave (3) Pill Box out of the numbers who loves racing here and comes into this off the back of a good win in weaker grade. Has won over this trip before and will enjoy a good ride from gate 7.

(7) Mccain wears blinkers here today and that is something to take note of from this stable. Still stuck on the 1 career win but has performed well in this grade before and can show improvement today with the gear change.

Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
