Sha Tin Tips
Sha Tin racecourse is a picturesque track located in Sha Tin in the New Territories in Hong Kong.
Sha Tin was developed in 1978 and has a capacity of 85,000 people. The turf track has a width of 30.5 meters and a home straight measuring 430m. The all-weather track is 22.8 meters wide with a home straight of 365 meters.
Sha Tin plays host to a number of the world’s biggest and best races, many of which make up the Hong Kong International Races in December each year. These include the Hong Kong Sprint, Hong Kong Mile, Hong Kong Cup and Hong Kong Vase.
Although restricted to four-year-olds only, the Hong Kong Derby is widely regarded as one of Hong Kong’s greatest races.
