We look towards Warwick Farm today where there is a strong 7 race card to get stuck into for this Queen’s Birthday public holiday. The track is currently rated a heavy 8 and the rail is in the true position. Fine weather is predicted so we could see an upgrade throughout the day.

Billy Bestford has had a look at the form and has picked out a few races to target for the meeting. Read on to see his previews and analysis for his best bets throughout the afternoon. His selections today come up in Race 1, Race 2 and Race 6.

Looking forward to seeing (1) Tyrol make his debut today. This horse has been trialling the house down recently having won all three he had taken part in. Showed plenty of speed and looks above average. Should get through the conditions and Jmac on is always a good lead.

(7) Promise Of Success makes her local debut today after relocating from the UK. Won a recent trial leading up to this and should be ready to fire fresh.

(8) Starboreta is another who has been an eye catcher at the trials and looks a nice horse.

The form around (5) Sky Horse is very good as she continues to run well. Put in her best performance of the prep last time out, finishing 3rd behind the smart No Compromise and Stockman. Before that he was seen finishing 5th behind Heart Of Puissance and this now looks the easiest race she’s contested recently. Kept grinding away last start over this trip and is 1/1 on heavy tracks. Looks well placed today.

(4) Admit It has to handle the step up in grade but is absolutely flying at the moment without being able to breakthrough. Four straight 2nds show this horse is bursting to win one and looks suited getting out to this trip for the first time.

You would expect (3) Sound Of Cannons to improve off last start’s performance where nothing really went right for him. He’s now rock hard fit and it wouldn’t surprise to see him go close.

(7) Daphne Jean is still very lightly raced and returned this prep with a very good win over 1100m. She should only strip fitter from that and keen to see her out to 1400m today. Maps for the gun run, should handle the conditions and think she can win here and tackle stronger races after this.

(4) St Covet’s Spirit is the class horse of the field, having competed in much tougher races than this across her career. She doesn’t win out of turn but has been building to a good performance and has to be a chance back in grade.

(2) Exotic Ruby is another who drops back in grade today and has to be a chance based on recent form. Was a touch unlucky in a stronger Saturday race last start and will enjoy getting back to Warwick Farm where she has had most of her success.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
