We’ve got a good eight-race card today at Scone where the track is currently rated a Soft 6. The rail is out 4 metres from the 800 to the winning post and true the remainder of the track.

Pretty keen on the chances of (2) Very Sharp in this 900m dash. Looked home last start when tackling this track/trip fresh in a class 3. Was only nailed late there and drops down to a class 1 today, should improve 2nd up and will take some beating.

(6) Baiyka looks the main danger and comes through the same race. Started well in the market there and will be up on speed and take some getting past

Was pretty impressed by the first up win of (11) Switch Play who I think can measure up today. Will only improve on the back of that and the slight rise in trip looks a positive. Buckley should have options from barrier 9 and I think this horse will be flying late.

(2) Chaready went down a short priced favourite here last start in a similar race to this. Kept working well through the line and will be hard to beat again.

(8) Sancta is still very lightly raced and has a built a consistent record to start her career. There doesn’t seem to be too much speed engaged here and she could roll forward and take some catching.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
