As usual there are plenty of formlines to assess in the TAB Highway, and I have landed with (12) Denman Unlimited on top at juicy odds. She returned well at Newcastle two weeks ago, finishing fifth in a field of nine behind the promising Never Talk. She was a touch slow to begin and had to be held up before running into the back of another runner on the bend, but when she straightened up, she let down nicely over the Newcastle straight, running the last 600m in 32.68. She gets an extra 300m which is ideal and despite her previous two failures on the soft going, I keep thinking about the run she had in her first prep where she finished 1L off Wandabaa on the soft 6. Willing to have a small crack each-way.
(7) Art Cadeau is the main contender here. Yet to miss a top two in six starts, he proved last preparation that he can handle this grade on a heavy track and 1200m looks to be ideal. Tommy Berry rides also and if he can into a nice position from barrier 10, he is the one to beat.
(6) Monica’s Star is in tremendous form and will lead. She is untested here so would rather watch, but she has talent.
(4) Depth That Varies next best.
Top Pick: (12) Denman Unlimited $41.00 TAB

I think (7) Obvious Step is not a bad play here on an each-way basis. All the runs this preparation have had plenty of merit. First-up she come from last and ran home nice like a filly looking for further which she got next start but got into a bumping match in the straight before finishing off well enough into seventh. But it was her run in the Reginald Allen that caught my eye. She was slow to begin and approaching the 300m after being held-up, she was steadied to come around runners and really let down. It’s a decent drop back from a Quality to BM72 and she keeps the same weight, but the flashing light for me is that she will get some sting out of the ground. She relished in it beating home Giovanna Run to break her maiden, so expect a big run here.
(10) Ellsberg was massive on debut and will need to repeat that performance to be of an affect here. Due to him being untested here, I don’t know what his ceiling is. He could blow them out of the water but he also could do nothing at all.
(1) Enchanted Heart is a massive chance, so put her into exotics.
(4) Air to Air next best.

I want to be with (1) Segalas here after a luckless run first-up. Just as the Poet’s Voice mare was getting into the race late on the rail, the leader Mr Mosaic drifted a touch and close the gap Segalas was going to take. I have no doubt with clear running that she at least runs second to the eventual winner Chat, if not beats it. She has been massive at her last two go’s at 1200m, coming from near last to finish in the placings both times. In her defence she was poorly drawn on both occasions and gets a nice draw here with a 3kg claim of Tom Sherry. She has placed seven times at 1200m for no wins, but I think with the better draw and the fact she runs exceptionally good on a wet track, she is the one they have to beat.
(9) Miss Einstein made punters tear their hair out last preparation and I think she will give a run here to suck punters in again.
(7) Willowheart was scratched from the previous for this, and I think they would have preferred the 1400m so expect her to be there late once again.
(13) Saas Fee I expect to be thereabouts also.

This is a wide-open race but (11) Archanna looks the one I want to be with. Last start was her best run since her debut which tells me a couple of things. Firstly, that the 1900/2000m is ideal for her and if you mix that with something from her first run, say the wet ground, I think it is the perfect recipe for her. She is drawn well to get an ideal run and should be in the better ground as they turn.
(12) Quintessa another whose run was probably her best in the terms of figures despite finishing seventh. She is drawn awkwardly, so she will go forward like usual though she gets a wet surface which plays right into her hands.
(2) Rider In The Snow is the interesting runner of the group, though I am lucky enough to say I have spent a little time with him. He is quite a jittery horse and may get a touch warm in the yard in his first start here, though he has class. He loves the wet and would love this to be a lot longer, but he will be flying late.
(3) Across Dubai is one I can’t leave out. Combine the selections for a healthy exotic and pray.

(7) Switched on top for me here. Love the fact she comes into this with fitness under her belt and a 3kg claim of Louise Day bringing her down to 53.5kg. She loves the wet and proved that finishing in the placings behind Witherspoon, Outback Diva, Tailleur and Varda who would all be very short in the market for this race. She is drawn superbly and will be on the pace. She is going to be hard to run down.
(12) Macroura is one I want to be with after this run, I just want to see how she has come back. Tough ask for her to return first-up on this sort of track from a sticky barrier, but she is talented.
(5) Mo’s Crown is a dangerous one after her one race and out win in May at Rosehill on the heavy going. She is drawn wide and will go forward and with Josh Parr aboard, he will give her every chance.
(9) Plaquette is the next best.

This isn’t a very good race and have landed with (10) Nimalee here on the back of a nice run in the Angst. She finished third behind Emeralds and Greysful Glamour but still beat home some rather good horses with Positive Peace winning the Group 3 Nivision next start and Scarlet Dream running fourth in the Group 3 Craven Plate. She relishes the wet ground and is drawn to get the dream run.
(4) The Candy Man loves the wet ground and 2000m is something he can be competitive in. He is drawn okay and with Tommy Berry aboard, he should be able to find a good spot for this cult hero/
(3) Wu Gok is another who loves 2000m, loves the wet and loves Rosehill. A win wouldn’t surprise me.
(2) Fun Fact next best.

His best runs in his career have come on wet ground and that run in the Everest was out of character and his worst run since coming to New South Wales. (3) Eduardo will turn his form around here and will lead this race easily from barrier one. From that 1300m start it is a nice advantage to have for a speed machine like him. Nash goes back aboard which gives me plenty of confidence and I think he will be hard to run down.
(7) Star of the Seas is a forgotten horse and I want to have a play on him also. He is a silly price for a horse whose results haven’t gone his way, but his figures are still quite good. He loves the wet tracks and the step back to 1300m is a positive move in my eyes. Watch for him late.
(1) Gytrash looks to excel on wet tracks and is coming off a nice run in the Everest. The gates worries me a touch but at this time of the day, it shouldn’t be an issue.
(12) Haut Brion Her next for the exotics

(5) Riodini is fit, has brilliant form coming into this and looks to handle any going which is going to a bonus late in the day. He was terrific in the Shannon before a brave run in the Epsom behind Probabeel and rival (12) Funstar. I think he is drawn perfectly for this and will get a dream run throughout. Could think of a lot worse horses and you’re getting a cracking price to find out.
(13) Colette has only been fair this preparation so far but is going to get a strong 1500m on a going she loves. With a nice draw and a hungry Koby Jennings, expect her to be fighting out the finish.
(9) Bottega is another who is crazy odds for a horse who will appreciate the 1500m and the going.
(16) Sierra Sue next best.
Top Pick: (5) Riodini $21.00 Bet365
Next Top Pick: (13) Colette $6.10 Sportsbetting

If you’re ahead by this race, take your money and walk away. (16) Greek Hero would be my on topper in the last with no confidence. I thought he showed enough in his first campaign in Australia to be a chance here. It appears his form over the wet is suspect though in his first Australian preparation he was competitive on the soft and heavy in this grade.
(5) Stockman will have to improve off his last start but if he does he isn’t without a chance on the wet ground.
(13) Surreal Step wasn’t far away despite finishing last in the Silver Eagle by only 2.8L. He is a chance second-up to be right in the finish.
(8) Coterie next best.
Top Pick: (16) Greek Hero $10 Bet365
