The wet track racing in New South Wales continues at Wagga on Friday, with eight races on a soft track. Joshua Reed has selected three races he’s keen to bet in below.

The wet track racing in New South Wales continues at Wagga on Friday, with eight races on a soft deck.

Joshua Reed is keen to bet in Race 1, Race 4 and Race 6 where the favourites look exceptionally hard to beat.

The opening event at Wagga looks a two-horse race and I have landed with (2) Hilltop Hood. Although it was in weaker class, I was impressed with his 1.8 length win here at Wagga over the 2500m last start.

He meets three of his rivals (5) Every Girl, (6) Thurmanator and (7) Barcoo Bill a half kilo better, so I think that puts lines through them, especially over further.

He is a big fella who is going to relish every step of the 3200m and not to mention he generally performs well with sting out of the ground. He will either lead or sit just behind the main rival (1) Dambula who he will have to keep tabs on.

This girl looked the winner in the straight, only to be run down in the shadows of the post but she gets the chance to break her maiden here. (3) Evanora will go up 1kg from that run but looks to get a nice run throughout from barrier 2. This is a very narrow maiden race and she not only possesses a fitness edge, but she excelled well on a soft 7 which gives the indication a heavy track will not hurt her.

Expect her to sit just behind (8) Guiltless in the run before taking the lead around 300m from home.

This bloke is back after a successful two-year-old campaign. (2) Another One had a great debut run at this track and distance on a heavy track, which he gets today. He finished less than half a length off Lion’s Roar, who has since won two races and placed two races with one of those a second in the Group 1 Spring Champion. If that’s not good enough form for this, I don’t know what is. Second-up he won the Lamont Classic over the 1300m here by 1.8L on the soft 7. He is my best bet of the day, and I think he is overs at the current price ($2.40 when writing this), so I’ll be taking the early price.
