I can’t be backing (3) Time Scale at the short quote here. She’s yet to miss a placing this prep but she’s had ample opportunity to win another one and just keeps finding one or two better. Add in barrier 1 and the potential of inferior ground in the cutaway, and she just isn’t a betting proposition.

Similarly, (6) Smashing has shown very little on the heavy ground in her first two runs back from a spell. Drops in class today which should help but hardly confident jumping into her to improve enough.

(2) Poker Face got the blows in betting last start but was too good in any case. She continues to step up and beat whatever is put in front of her. Hard to knock her winning form.

(5) Somethingready steps up from maiden grade to Class 3 which isn’t easy, but she did win with something in hand last start and can be competitive once again.

(1) He’s A Sizzler looks the horse to beat after coming from well back first up to run the fastest final 400m of the entire meeting.

(2) American Troop has run well in his first two starts and gets barrier 1 third up today. Should be very competitive.

(3) Mahaleo gets Pike on for his debut. No surprise to see him run a good race as this stable goes well at Belmont.

(2) The Invisible Man led and was run down by Somethingready on debut, and they pulled well clear of the rest of the field, which is generally a good sign. Should come across from barrier 11 and be hard to run down.

(8) Masaru was good on debut at Pinjarra and the winner of that race has since come out and run well again. Will have to run them all down but it’s not a deep race.

(7) Valenza gets Pike on first up. Showed a little bit of talent last prep but was a bit green.

(4) Songs And Lyrics gets Chris Parnham on for its debut. He’s been riding the horse at the trials and gets barrier 1 today, which we saw in the first race was no issue at all.

I think this is basically a two-horse race.

(1) Precautionary drops from a 3YO handicap in Saturday grade back to a Class 1 on a Wednesday and goes from Beaux Banovic-Edwards to William Pike. The winner of the race she contested last start was Nobel Laurence, who I have a very high opinion of. Prior to that, she ran 3rd to Real Charisma and Arracity, who have both come out and won again since. Looks a very good set up.

(5) Wise Cracker is the other horse and I’m with it at the prices. Each run this preparation has been super. Came from last and charged home to get up last start at Pinjarra and there’s no doubt in my mind she can make the step up to a Class 1 today. The stable is absolutely flying.

(2) Dream Evil was a good winner first up and was sound in defeat behind Miss Vasari last start in a No-Metro-Wins race. Parnham goes back on replacing Pike, draws well and should be very hard to beat back in Class 1 company.

(4) Starlift had no luck first up, sitting three-wide the trip. Pike goes back on today, replacing the apprentice and on her best form, she would be very competitive.

(9) Domineer drops in grade so can improve.

(3) Conquered Zone has had William Pike aboard for all four career wins, including last start when it would have been a moral beat had it not won. That was over this track and distance on a heavy track and he only cops 1.5kg in the weights as a result for that win, so there’s no reason he can’t salute again.

(4) Mood Goddess looks the danger dropping back from Saturday grade to midweek grade third up from a spell.

With a gun to my head, (7) What About Moi could go close, dropping out of Listed company back to a No-Metr-Wins race on a Wednesday.

(5) Bollinger Boy ahs run some very good races this prep but he doesn’t like winning. Pike goes on today for the first time this prep.

(2) Allez Allez wasn’t disgraced last start, (1) Gunnago drops heavily in class and (8) Sea War isn’t far off a win.

Tricky race to finish things off.

(1) Elafella drops back from 2100m to 1400m and gets the blinkers back on, as well as Pike back on. Strange set up but this stable can do things like this.

(4) Call Again might just need this run and a step up in distance next start, but he does find a winnable race fresh. His recent trial was very good – they rode him forward that day. First up last prep he ran well at huge odds without much luck. he has the ability and at each way odds appeals. Just might be going off one run too soon.

(8) Rosso Tempesta was good first up but ordinary last start. Can bounce back.

(5) Pambella ready third up now.
