Pretty interested in taking the Matthew Dale trained (2) Clem Fandango at decent odds here. He won last run in Class 1 and has been improving each time he steps out. The stable are always on when at their home track, so expect that there will be some natural improvement in this guy going from 1800 metres to 2000 metres. Seems to handle all conditions, so the track won’t pose an issue today, and despite a jockey change, Robbie Dolan is not a step down in quality.

The reason we are getting an okay price is due to the super consistent (5) Microna coming in at a short price. Coming down from Newcastle may not be ideal, so happy to take him on—but include in the exotics.

Keen to stay with (8) Scarleo who has saluted for us in the past—including a highway at Rosehill. Was disappointing last time behind Amy’s Shadow, but we can expect him to bounce back. He trialed recently taking it out, so there should be some fitness coming into this. This is really a step back in grade, and he gets in against several horses that look no-where near his quality.

There are a couple to be wary of, heading that is local horse (5) Mookareena who has won two straight, and performs well at this track.

The Horse

The Horse found the thought of placing bets and drinking beers much more appealing once he was married, and that led to an interest in the many intricacies of The Great Game. He enjoys the challenge of predicting what will happen in any given race, but also loves horses themselves, none more so than the mighty mudlark Jungle Edge. His focus lies on metropolitan racing in Victoria and NSW, however isn’t afraid to find one out wide. Away from racing, The Horse is an avid drummer – quite a difficult task with a set of hooves.
