(9) Melanie has looked really good at a couple of recent jumpouts, winning both of them. Think she’s come back a much better horse this time around and she won’t have to be a star to be winning this. From the gate she should go forward and expect her to take some running down.

(6) Baekdu will be hardest to beat and she went close on two occasions in her debut prep. She was odds on both times there on heavy tracks so the dry track tonight could be the key to her.

(6) Eclipse Solar has had genuine excuses in two starts this prep and I’m going to give him another chance here. 3rd up now and up to 1300m should suit, draws nicely in gate 4 and if he can find his best form I think he will be too good for this lot.

(10) Sly Corner is a tough on pace horse and comes off a dominant win in weaker grade. He’s been super consistent all prep and will be thereabouts once again.

(2) Bellinger has a win over this track and distance and has been solid this prep in this grade. He’s another who is due a bit of luck.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
