Liked the debut effort of (10) Do It In Purple as he started warming up late and hit the line very strongly. It was a blanket finish that day and was unlucky to finish 5th in the end. Will only take natural improvement from that and I like the fact John Allen sticks with him today.

(6) Jekyll’n’hyde is bursting to win one soon. Has run consecutive 2nds after three straight 3rds and deserves a win. Drops back in trip here today and finds Oliver. Has to be a chance.

(2) Mr Joobs was solid fresh in his first start for 5+ months and will take on plenty of improvement from that. Will only get better as he gets out in trip but happy to side with him today.

(6) Hunamosa is as honest as they come and looked to have regained some form with a good 2nd two starts back. Struggled in a stronger race last start but can win back in this class.

The lightly raced (6) Surecan can make it two wins on the trot. Was a very good maiden winner last start and looks like she can take the logical step up in grade here. Step up in trip will suit and looks the best bet on the card.

The resuming (1) Spring Break is another lightly raced horse who can give this a shake. Showed good talent last prep with some good winning form coming out of those races.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
