If (1) Cannonball can reproduce the form we saw from his first prep he looks incredibly hard to beat back in this midweek maiden. Was last seen finishing a 1L fourth behind Sejarden in the Golden Gift. Recent jumpout was good and he should be winning here with even luck.

(7) Squad looks a decent chance on debut. Showed a bit of speed at the jumpouts and should be able to get to the front from the wide gate today.

(4) Mondo won a jumpout in dominant fashion and looks a chance at odds.

(8) Telecaster resumes here after being put away quickly following some excuses on debut. He started a $3 favourite in that race and pulled up lame so you can be forgiving of that. Think we can respect the SP profile there and the recent work at the jump outs has been solid enough. Happy to think he can improve at $8+

(7) Smiling Amos will be toughest to beat and debuts following two jump out wins. Was asked for a bit more in the most recent of those and showed a nice turn of foot to win it well. Looks to have a bit of upside about him.

(9) Angel Of Light looks the best chance at odds.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
