Wednesday racing heads to Gosford today for just the six races. The track is currently rated a heavy 8 while the rail is in the true position. More rain is forecast for the day so I wouldn’t be banking on seeing a track upgrade throughout.

(2) Mr Burgundy comes out of a good form race from his debut and there was plenty to like about the run there. He will take a heap of improvement out of that run and I’d expect him very hard to beat today. The current favourite ran yesterday so I’d expect Mr Burgundy will start odds on but he should be too good for these today and doubt he remains a maiden for long.

(10) Marooniyah should find this a bit easier than the first up run and I think it’s worth forgiving her there after being slow out of the gates. They put the blinkers on today and Tommy Berry sticks for the ride again. If she can jump with them I think she will be a big improver here 2nd up.
(8) Ultra is knocking on the door for a win and has been building well this prep. Went down as a short priced favourite last start but will enjoy getting to 1200m.
They’ve thrown the blinkers on (5) Assiduity here following a decent debut run. Will be much better for that experience and can win off some of his trial form.

(2) Conscript will likely lead them up here and I think he will prove tough to run down in these conditions with an apprentice claim on. Comes into this off an impressive win in the same grade and will carry almost the same weight today. A bottomless track might be a slight query but hoping it is still not too wet by this stage.
(8) Keikoku was a nice winner on debut hitting the line well. Looks as if he’ll enjoy getting to 1200m and could have a bit of upside about him.
(3) Marnix is building to a peak run this prep and should be ready to do somehting now 3rd up. He handles wet conditions and will be given every favour by Collett from the inside draw.

(3) Rubinocchi won her maiden on a heavy track when first up last prep so should handle the wet conditions today. Won two of three starts in that last campaign and showed a bit of ability along the way. The most recent trial was a nice bit of work and I’d suggest from barrier 1 today she should be nice and prominent in the run. She’s lightly raced and can take the next step here.
(1) Proud Mia arguably won a stronger race than this last start and gets a good claim for Dylan Gibbons today. She’ll be forward in the run as usual and will take some catching.

(5) Twitch was a winner this track/trip before heading for a spell. Has been given a few trials leading into this prep and I’ve liked the look of them. Looks a horse on the up and can give this a shake fresh.
(6) Designer Maid can run a race here up on speed. Gets through the conditions and drops back in grade after a solid run in a strong Saturday race. Looks the value.
(4) Forzanini has been going nicely at the trials for Tommy Berry and he jumps aboard on race day. Will be right in the finish here.

(9) Almighty Rising will probably lead this field up and think he might be too good for these. Had two runs last prep, both on rain affected tracks where he ran very well. Won his maiden in good style before running 2nd to a smart horse in Larkspur Run on a heavy Canterbury track. Berry sticks for the ride today and I think he’s got a bit of upside about him.
(7) Schiller Bay is airborne this prep and you’d expect he can continue that form here. Seems to be a horse who just gets better the further he goes into a prep.
