Open race to start. (11) Treporti has the best exposed form having placed behind Invincible Caviar two starts back. He’s jumped out since his last run and gets Lane back on.

(10) Surcote has jumped out well for Willo and Waller and will look to use the good gate.

(9) Squid Game has trialled quite well.

(6) Video can run a big race. His maiden win was very soft and his recent jumpout was excellent, pairing off in front and cruising past the leader under no riding. He should be able to land 1-1 and run well.

(7) Guardian Spirit was dominant breaking his maiden at Geelong, starting $1.65, sitting wide and bolting in. No doubt he’s hard to beat again.

(8) Gulf Of Aden was also dominant breaking his maiden at Kyneton and gets Olly on for Waller.

(6) Designs was very good first up. If this was on the Hillside I’d be keener but she does have tactical speed and shouldn’t be worse than midfield from barrier 6. She just missed The Marg Factor who had all the favours, with that horse beaten a nose at Moonee Valley on Friday. 1600m suits and she’s got plenty of upside.

(1) Redwood Shadow has the talent but struggles to win. Back to 1600m is a query and drawn barrier 1 he’ll need luck.

(4) I Am News next best.

(3) Dee Keepa was good first up on a heavy track at Dunkeld behind Yulong Knight who has won again since. He loves 1400m and should improve 2nd up.

(2) Mrs Sippy has been good in two runs back and looks to peak here. She won’t want any rain to come.

(4) Derive can improve back in trip- I prefer her at 1400m.

(3) Pal D’oro at his best would be very hard to beat. First up last prep he split Ironedge and Cumberbatch. The gelding operation may have done the trick and he’s jumped out well enough. Maps well and could be better than these.

(12) Wolf Skill won well on debut at Geelong in a slowly run race. Her late splits were solid but not amazing.

(6) Ornamental Lady next best.

Tough to bet in this race with (4) Witsabouthim making his Australian debut. His two NZ wins looked good to the eye and the jumpouts have been good. He’ll likely get back in the field.

(2) Brasada is racing well and this looks easier than his last couple. He likely gets back as well.

Tough speed map to work out and happy to leave this alone.

(6) Hello Broadcast was building nicely before a slightly plain run in the Country final last start. They went quick and he was just too far back to impact, beaten 3.75L. He drops back to 1400m here and should be finishing hard.

(3) D’jumbuck looks ready to peak 3rd up. He faded to be beaten 5L by Bermadez last start which ties in with the Country final form and the 3kg claim for Josh Richards helps.

(1) Tanker was dominant last start and looks well placed to win again.

(5) Elduing next best off a good win first up.

Tough race to finish but one at huge odds that can run well is (9) Maldestro. His first up placing behind Super Thief reads well for this. He was well beaten at Bendigo by Duchess Of Dorset but this is easier and he’ll probably start close to 100-1.

(13) Got The Style was too good 2nd up at Ballarat. She can continue to progress.

(6) Kentucky Casanova won easily on debut before starting $3 against Crestaini before a spell. He’s jumped out well and has obvious upside.

Tip: (9) Maldestro- $51.00/13.00 at Sportsbet

Betting Strategy: 0.25 units E/W Maldestro (Betfair Starting Price)

Trent’s interest in the thoroughbred started out as a spark with Black Caviar, became a flame with Winx, and has now intensified into a burning obsession with Arcadia Queen. He started out throwing loose change on random trifectas at the pub, but it wasn’t long before he was watching replays and looking at sectionals, weights and markets. Trent specializes in Victorian racing and hopes his first winner as an owner is just around the corner.
